thirty.

~ conintuation of previous chapter~

each of them jumped at he sudden noise of sirens right behind them. their first instinct was to of course, run. yet they were all frozen in fear. they were all tired of running, they had to face this head on.

the officer pulled beside the group huddled on the side of the road. he said nothing at all, only gestured that they all get by a tilt of his head. and of course, they all cooperate, why would they have to fear the cops?

the drive to the station consisted of nothing but silence, no one dared to speak or ask why they were currently in a cop car. no one even dared to ask the officers name. yet the whole time sadie stared at the man, she knew him from somewhere but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

as they drive continued they realized he car ride was going on for longer than an hour, and the station was only down the road.

"where are we going?" sadie finally spoke the silence as she also noticed the weirdly long drive to what seemed to be he middle of no where.

"shut the fuck up, sadie." the officers words came out cold and harsh.

sadie's hart dropped, she knew where she knew the man from now. his name was roger martinez, a crooked cop her father, micheal, worked with.

"i hope you all had a good life, because now it's over. you're all coming with us, and you'll never see your families again." roger said, letting out a malicious laugh sending shivers down each spine.

they were all near tears, but especially luna. she had just gotten out and now she was going back to her own personal hell.

"w-where are we going?" luna spoke quitely as she cried.

"oh, you'll see sweet cheeks. you'll see." he said very much sounding like a pervert.

they all reached for the door handles but realized, there wasn't any. roger had planned this. he was kidnapping four kids, taking their lives just after they were getting back on track.

they had no idea what he was planning to do to them. they all looked at each other giving each other loving eyes, even though sadie wasn't as close she still felt a strong connection to each of them. even though they were all terrified.

after hours of silence and driving, they finally stopped.

roger stepped out of the car to talk to two other scary looking men.

"alright, i got four of them. choose whatever," he said to the to thug-ish looking men.

they only chose sadie. they ignored the children's pleads, they only took one.

roger drove off with kids in extreme fear not knowing what would happen. finn soon realize they were separating each of them, and his heart was broken once again, he didn't even know how much his heart could take.

he stopped again, they took luna next, knocking finn unconscious as he tried to fight back.

and the final stop, they took jack. as jack was being pulled from the car he mouthed to finn, 'don't forget about me', finn only nodded and responded with, 'i love you',  before jack could develop a response he was shoved into a large SUV.

each of them are all alone, scared and had no idea what was coming next they knew one day he would see them again, they just didn't know when.

yet two of the group thought differently, jack and finn. they both realized how they changed each others lives forever. if finn wouldn't have texted the unknown number he would've never meet jack and then wouldn't have meet sadie in search for jack and wouldn't have found his sister with help from jack. if jack wouldn't have answered he would've never been taken but at the same time he would've never meet finn, and he is very happy he meet finn—he would cross oceans for him.

it was all because of the text of an unknown number that jack received and that finn sent.

honestly i loved this book with all my heart, it was my first book to hit 1k.
