When Emily woke up, she found herself on the floor covered in blood. If it was her own, she wasn't sure, but she had a pretty good idea whose it was when she saw the dead soldiers that were lying around her with blood everywhere.
Emily grimaced at the sight and pushed some of the bodies off of her before stumbling to her feet. She heard a groan from the other end of the helicopter and she limped her way over there before her eyes landed on General Ross who seemed to be the only other survivor.
"Mr. Ross?" Emily asked as she knelt down beside the man who she had grown up to consider a father figure to her. "Are you hurt? Let me help you." Emily started to pull off the junk and bodies that were on top of him, but General Ross waved her off.
"I'm alright. Just find a way out," General Ross told her and Emily nodded before beginning to get up and try and find an exit. Before she could do anything though, something jumped on top of the helicopter shaking the whole thing and making her tumble to the ground.
There was a moment of silence that was only broken by growls coming from both the monster and the Hulk. The helicopter then rocked backwards as the monster jumped off of the helicopter and flew at the Hulk.
Emily quickly stood to her feet and struggled to try and get to the exit of the helicopter. She finally managed to get her head out and her eyes widened at the sight of the dripping fuel on one end of the helicopter and the sparks on the other.
"We've got to get out of here now!" Emily yelled and General Ross quickly ran over to her and tried to help push her out. However, Emily's foot got stuck in between the discarded gun and the side of the door and a yelp of pain escaped her lips as she felt something pop.
The Hulk must've been able to hear her yelp because his eyes instantly flickered over to her. She stared back at him with wide eyes and continued to struggle to get out of the helicopter as she watched the Hulk fight that monster.
The monster hit the Hulk multiple times before pinning him up against a wall. "You don't deserve this power! Now watch her die!" the thing yelled before plunging one of its long nails into the Hulk's skin and making him cry out in pain.
Emily froze and she watched as the Hulk looked over at her with pain filled eyes. "Come on, Bruce. Come on, Hulk," Emily whispered and that must've been the push that he needed because the Hulk then found the strength to pull the monster's arm away and then smash the monster into the wall.
Emily smiled slightly as the Hulk turned around to look at her, but her smile quickly disappeared once she saw the distressed look on his face. She looked down just in time to see the fire reach the fuel tank. For a moment all she could see was flames, but a giant clap could then be heard and a rush of air hit her and threw her back as the flames started to subside.
Emily quickly sat up and tried to catch her breath as she ran to the exit and locked eyes with the Hulk. He was breathing heavily as he looked at her, but their moment was broken as Emily saw the monster run up from behind him and swing something at the Hulk.
"Look out!" Emily screamed, but it was too late. The monster swung the thing at the Hulk and he went flying and smashed into the ground a little ways away. Emily's eyes widened, but she sighed in relief when she saw the Hulk get up.
Emily then took that time and kicked down a giant piece of metal that was blocking their way before starting to climb out. She could hear the fight going on, but was afraid to look up and see what was going on. Instead, Emily reached down and grabbed General Ross' hand before pulling him out as well.
Emily noticed General Ross' eyes widen and she quickly turned around to see the monster swinging a piece of concrete by a metal chain. "General," he called out. "Any last words?"
The two stood there in shock before they heard a growl and saw the Hulk lift his fists up in the air.
"Hulk smash!"
The Hulk then smashed his fists into the ground making the ground split right under the monster's feet and make him trip. The weapon slipped out of the monster's hand before flying up in the air and then landing behind him, the chains wrapping around him in the process.
Emily watched as the Hulk quickly ran over and grabbed the chains before pulling it tightly against the monster's throat. The monster clawed and punched at the Hulk, but he only grabbed ahold of one of the spikes in the monster's arm, tore it out and then proceeded to stab him in the chest with it.
The monster continued to struggle and Emily watched in horror as his struggling lessened and he started to go limp. Emily's eyes widened and before she knew what she was doing she yelled out, "Stop!"
The Hulk stared at her before releasing his grip on the monster as it fell limp on the ground. Emily faintly saw the chest of the monster moving up and down and she sighed in relief. She knew Bruce didn't want to kill anyone and just the thought of him having succeeded in killing the monster and then turning back into himself to find out broke her heart.
"It's okay," Emily assured the Hulk who nodded and tossed the monster aside. Emily then smirked slightly as the Hulk put a foot on top of the monster and proceeded to let out a mighty roar.
"That's my boy," Emily whispered to herself before she started to walk towards the panting green giant. A soldier went to stop her, but General Ross grabbed ahold of him and shook his head. Together the two watched as the girl walked towards the beast with her head held high and a proud look on her face.
The Hulk kicked the monster towards General Ross as Emily walked up to the Hulk who proceeded to bend down to look at her. She smiled with tears streaming down her face before whispering, "That's my boy. It's okay. You saved us."
The Hulk stared at her for a moment before reaching out and wiping away a tear. He stared at his now wet finger and then back at the girl before whispering, "Emily."
Emily smiled at that and nodded her head. "It's me, big guy. It's your Emily," she whispered and the Hulk smiled softly. "Emily," he said again.
Emily reached out and was about to grab his hand when a bright light flashed down on them. The two jumped before looking up to see a helicopter flashing a light down on the Hulk. The Hulk stared at it angrily before running across the roof and on top of the helicopter.
The Hulk froze and turned to look back at Emily. She just smiled softly and gave him a small nod as if to tell him that she would be okay. And with that, the Hulk jumped off the building and disappeared from sight.
