Melrose's P.O.V
The heavy oak door swung open as I clicked in the key. Revealing Beau; who stood with his arms crossed, lips pursed and eyes narrowed. I took a precarious step forward into our house, but Beau didn’t budge.
He had blocked me from moving further forward and there was no way I could push him out the way. “Uh- Beau?” I asked, stuttering slightly under his cold glare.
I hadn’t seen Beau looking his annoyed in a while. I felt like I was balanced on a tightrope and if I slipped just a little bit I would fall. “Yes, Melrose?”
I rolled my eyes and walked forwards and tried to push pass him. He was just being the awkward, annoying younger brother. His arms just pushed me back and he didn’t even budge a bit. “Why are you being so awkward?” I asked innocently.
“I’m not, that’s you.” he said in a monotone voice. His azure eyes pierced right back into mine. I shot him a puzzled look and he then explained “I saw you today.”
“Err, yeah cuz’ we all went to the mall. You know: you, Brianna, Lana, Blake and I.” I retorted jokingly. Shame Beau didn’t find it so funny.
“No with that social recluse, you were laughing w-with him. He was soaking it up and plotting something to hurt you!” I blew out hot air, knowing that Beau had made an assumption. I mean really, Juno wasn’t plotting anything. He isn’t some evil villain out of comic.
“He’s not a social recluse! He’s forced away because of you and your jock friends, because you guys didn’t like the fact he’s sweet and can get the girls.” I shot back, getting defensive for a guy that I barely knew.
Beau snorted “If he’s so sweet, why did he get Emma pregnant?” he retorted with venom laced in his voice.
“When the hell did you become like your arsehole jocks buddies?”
When Beau didn’t answer, I took that as my cue to leave. I didn’t storm up the stairs that would give Beau the satisfaction that he won- which he hadn’t.
I angry at him for the fact he didn’t even try to be friendly to Juno. Juno isn’t a bad person, just can’t be bothered to make the effort with people. You can see why, because of the way Beau’s jock friends treat him.
In my ‘trying not to show my anger’, I ended up slamming my door. I think this would be one time where I would not apologise to Beau. I noticed we argued more since my discovery of Juno, but if Beau wasn’t overprotective, we wouldn’t be like this.

“Why didn’t you get a lift from Beau?” Brianna asked, as I yanked the passenger door shut. This morning Beau and I hadn’t talked, I don’t think we will for a while yet.
“Eh, we had an argument. So we’re not speaking." I explained. Brianna rolled her eyes but started to drive.
“You and Blake then, never would have guessed.” she teased. If I had water right now it would have been spat everywhere.
“Come again.”
“A little birdy told me that Blake asked you out.” she said in a sing-song voice.
“Lana.” I gritted out. She must’ve have heard us while flitting around Hollister. My God she could be one mighty multi-tasker. “Just drive.”

First period was Spanish. I mean my brain doesn’t function in the English language in the morning, how I was supposed to speak another language?
A familiar figure crossed my path. “Juno.” I called, he turned slightly, to peer at me but flipped me off as he saw me.
