I Don't Deserve You

Take Up Your Cross

God has the power,

To save your soul from Hell,

He wants to save you,

But you don't really want the help.

You say you've got it,

All figured out.

I think sometimes,

You lie to yourself.

Today churches think,

They're helping you to know Him,

But truly,

They're selling you Jesus Christ,

Your savior.

They tell you all you need to do,

Is ask for your forgiveness;

But what I've come to learn,

Is that's not what God wants at all.

Of course,

That's one step of the process,

But what they leave out,

Is an important piece of the puzzle.

God wants you to follow,

To keep him dear to your heart.

Not only that,

But to take up your cross.

Life with Jesus,

Isn't always easy.

But rest asured,

He's there for you,

Even when you don't believe it.

Before the Lord,

I was lost and afraid;

But now I'm safe,

And even though it's sometimes hard,

I know it would be worse without Jesus.

Because I took up my cross,

I know for sure,

I'll one day return to heaven, once more.
