Hello again,
It's Ali here and I wanted to tell you something.
A friend of mine knows one of the hockey players who were injured in the crash, well her and her family know them. His name is Ryan Straschnitzki and he was injured badly in the crash.
The crash broke his back and he is now paralyzed from the waist down, but he refuses to give up on his hockey dream.
Ryan wants to play sledge hockey, it's a kind of hockey for people who can't skate on 2 legs and it's played on sleds. Luckily, Ryan is in a stable condition and is well, still in the hospital, but well.
The sad part of this though, is he will be the only or one of the very few hockey players involved in the Humboldt crash to ever play hockey again.
I wanted to tell you this news because it is important to me. The fact that he isn't giving up on his dream and that he will remember his hockey team is beautiful.
Once again, Humboldt will always be in our prayers.
I love you all.
-Ali
