Chapter 6: A Preformance

Evras POV

After talking to Darren about what Mr. Tall told me earlier, I grabbed my snake and went backstage. Nervously I was waiting as a couple of acts passed. Then all of a sudden I looked across the backstage area and saw the wolfman being rolled out. I then saw Medusa/Artoria. Hans Hands signaled her and she went on.

I looked at the beast and walked slowly toward him. Noticing my brother with the keys I smiled at them as they didn't have eye covers on. Stopping about 5 inches from the cage the Wolf Man was thrashing and growling.

After a while, I lifted my hat a little with a flick and made eye contact. He calmed down a little and then got closer to the bars. "I was never right,...for that hero type of role.." I sang softly as my green eyes seemed to glow slightly. The Wolf Man stopped moving and listened. "I admit it.." I sang on.

I then noticed Klide unlocking the door. But I didn't dare break eye contact with the Wolf Man. The door was then swung open slowly as my brother moved closer to the side. I then took a step back as the Wolf Man came out from the cage and got closer. Slowly I took my hat and motioned for him to bow. He did and I put the hat on.

I then smiled as he rose. I put my hand on his cheek. He rubbed his face on it and then looked at me. Knowing he wouldn't hurt anyone while I'm with him made me happy. I then held my hand out to him and led him off stage.

I heard people gasp when I first got him to the bottom of the step. Then I led him down each aisle. People seemed to be amazed as they pet his fur and some even cringed when they smelled their hand. 

I chuckled and when I finished leading him around I slowly walked back up each step till I reached the stage again. He followed and when I stopped he circled me and then sat as he nuzzled me. "It's good to see you to Ozlo," I said petting his head.

His name wasn't Ozlo but that's what I named him. Everyone else just calls him The Wolf Man. I looked at the people and bowed. I then looked at Ozlo and saw him bow a little.

I chuckled and took my hat. I then gestured him to the cage and saw him whimper. I then pet him then led him carefully to the cage. 

He nodded then went inside. Klide and Klaus locked the door and bowed. Smiling I put my hat on as the spotlights shut off. 

After taking the cage off stage I followed my brother to the side so another act could go on.

After another 2 acts

God!!! I'm so scared. I never did a water dance in front of people!! Plus I barely tried doing it a month ago.

"Are you nervous??" I heard a voice say. I turned and saw Mr. Tall. "Kinda. I've never performed a water dance in front of a large crowd of people. I'm worried I might mess up." I said twiddling my thumbs. "There's nothing to worry about. I'm sure you will do fine." He said.

I nodded then I heard clapping. My attention changed to behind me where I saw Hans Hands come from the curtain walking on his hands.

I giggled then I saw Mr. Tall pass me and head to the stage. "Ladies and Gentalmen. Our lovely Artoria Chastiefol is returning, but this time on her own. You all will witness true magic here. So don't blink or you will miss this amazing performance." He said as he fixed his top hat. 

As the crowd silenced and Mr. Tall left the stage, I saw Darren walk by me and out with a bucket. He placed it in the center and then ran back to the curtain. He passed me then motioned me.

I nodded then breathed slowly. I then walked out and felt eyes on me. I then bowed then sat down in front of the bucket. Closing my eyes I focused on my breathing and the water.

—after the performance—

I bowed and walked away from the amazed crowd. I chuckled as I heard loud clapping and whistling.

But when I made it threw the curtains I was hugged by my mother. "You did well." She said letting go. "Really!?" I asked. She nodded and then kissed my forehead. I'm taller but still seeing her get on her tippy toes was nice.

After she let go, I walked to the basket where Aoda was. I then stopped and saw Evra sitting in a chair next to the basket and he kept looking at it. He had his own snake with him which was the same size as Aoda. But his was a different kind.

I shrugged it off and kept going. He looked at me then to the side. "You seem interested in knowing what's in the basket," I said pointing to the paper sign Klide made that said...

'Do Not Open.'

"What's in it?" He asked. "What do you think?" I asked. "A snake..?" He asked. "No shit," I said chuckling as I opened the lid.

As soon as I did Aoda's head popped up and looked at me. He then moved his head from side to side then got closer. I stayed still then he pecked my lips. I smiled and then pet his head. "I missed you too.." I said. I then heard a sound. I turned and saw something leave the tent from under a small opening.

I then bolted to the exit and chased the small animal into the night. I finally caught up and grabbed it forcefully. I smiled and ran back. When I arrived I saw Aoda patiently waiting as he looked at Evra. They saw me and looked as I hung a mouse by its tail. I would eat it but I haven't given Aoda his snack.

"Nothing like a fresh snack," I said throwing the mouse into the air as I stood 2 feet from my slithering friend. It was still alive and that's how Aoda likes it. Smiling I saw him catch his food and swallow it hungrily. "You seem really hungry. Tell you what, you can go hunting tomorrow." I suggested. Aoda just stuck his tongue out and then nodded.

"So.....?" I heard Evra say. I turned and saw him twiddling his thumbs. He's shy but also nervous....what is he thinking.
