Chapter 7: Two Humans Two Snakes

Artorias POV

I kept looking at Evra for a while. I studied his behavior and took note of it. He didn't say much but tried to suggest things to do during the act. I added on and we agreed in the end. After an act or two, Mr. Tall began to introduce us with a fairly longish speech.

"Without further ado give a round of applause for Evra and Artoria." Mr. Tall said as he finished his speech about us. There was clapping and loud whistling.

I smiled and looked next to me. I saw Evra holding his snake waiting to go threw the curtain. We both had our snakes on our shoulders waiting. Then we both went out. We stopped then stood side by side and bowed.

We both decided that Evra should introduce his snake first, so he's doing that now. But as he was finishing I heard someone whisper something hurtful. 'Why should a pretty thing like that be with a hideous freak snake boy.'

It came from a boy no more than 15. He whispered to a friend next to him but I heard. I'm pretty sure Evra did too with his sense of hearing. I looked at him and saw him ignore it but still was hurt a bit. Then it was my turn.

"Hello ladies and gents this is Aoda. Aoda is a loyal companion. But he isn't fond of anyone who bad mouths a fellow friend of mine...." I said as I stared at Aoda. "He's very venomous and likes to bite. And from personal experience, the pain he puts his pray threw is unbearable." I said. 

My hair then changed to jade green and light lime yellow, the colors engulfed my orange. The transformation started from my roots to my tips.

I then released my spell and then green scales began to appear and form on my cheeks and a bit of my neck. "Looks can be deceiving...." I said as the eye that was showing became more snake-like and formed a slit just like my hidden eye. Everyone in the crowd gasped and some began to whisper.

Aoda nuzzle my neck and I could tell he was happy I was showing my true self. "So....if you wish to keep your life..." I said while smiling. "Be nice," I said more dark and threatening.

I looked at the boy and he just stared. Kinda terrified but still. I then smiled again and we continued our act.

In the end, we bowed and turned as we headed back. There was a round of applause and the next act came on after Mr. Tall's introduction.

I put Aoda back in his basket and decided to get some food for him for being such a good partner on stage. But which type of pray should I get??

I sighed and began to think. I think a good pure white mouse would do. Or maybe a squirrel...

I left the tent and went to mine. When I got in I let the flap of the tent fall as I snapped my fingers and a lantern lit up. I looked around and saw a small black cage on a wooden table covered by a rag.

I took the rag off and saw the cage filled with white mice. They were the snake's favorite so I stalked up on them before leaving the other town. "Let's see..." I said as I opened the door and looked for the fastest one. I grabbed it and an extra one.

As I left my tent I put the smaller mouse in my mouth and was about to slurp the tail in when I heard a thump. I looked to my right and saw three shadows. One was on the floor and the other two surrounded the third.

I smelled the air and froze. It was Evra on the floor and the two boys who made fun of him...

I approached and before I got too close they turned and looked at me. "Look Kyle another freak!! And it's a girl, let's have some fun!!!" One said as he nudged his friend.

They were under a light stand that was turned off so I decided to snap my fingers. When light came from the bulb my appearance and identity were revealed. "FREAK!! IS THAT A RAT IN YOUR MOUTH!?!!? GROSS!!!" The guy named Kyle asked shouting as the guy next to him laughed. "Mouse actually," I said slurping the tail and swallowing.

I looked and saw Evra starting to stand up. Then the one named Kyle turned and pushed Evra back down with his foot. "Stay down Freak!!" Kyle shouted. "Freak...?" I asked.

'Mr. Tall...permission to eliminate ...' I asked in my head. 'Permission. Granted....' He responded with a yes... I could tell he was a little pissed from the fact that he probably knows this is happening threw my eyes.

"Hey, Evra. Mr. Tall gave me permission to kill on sight." I said. I then reached into my vest and pulled out a vile. I took the cork off and spilled it on the floor. As it was about to make contact it turned into a snake and slithered around. "Holy shit!!" The other guy said.

"Cobra cobra... strangle and hold," I said as I sat crisscrossed on the floor and put the mouse in my pants front pocket. I made it sleep then I concentrated forward. The snake had divided into two snakes and slithered so fast that they didn't know what happens until they realized their positions.

When the snakes slithered up their legs, they stretched out and acted like a restraining rope and held the two tightly. "Knees," I said. The snakes then slithered up to the boy's neck's and bit in. They didn't scream but clenched their teeth and fell to their knees.

I sighed and stood up. I walked passed them and to Evra. He had a couple of bruises on his chest and he was bleeding a bit from his mouth.

"Come on.." I said as I put my arm around him and helped him up.

"What happened!?" I heard someone shout. I looked and saw Darren. He was running and got here in a split second. "Mr.Tall told me to find the both of you. And I smelt snake blood." Darren said. He then saw Evras bruises and the two restrained boys.

"Take Evra to my tent. I have some healing supplies." I said as I handed Evra to Darren. "But what happened?!?" Darren shouted. "Trust me...you don't want to be here right now... Evra can explain." I said as I turned and faced the restrained duo.

It was silent for a bit then I heard Darren leave with Evra. When they were far enough I let it go. I let everything go. A sharp feeling of blood lust went threw me and my hunger was unpredictable.

I can eat normal human food, but once in a while, I need meat.....blood..
