Pauline's POV
I went home after training to rest, mom and dad aren't home yet. It's so quiet sa bahay, I wonder where's ate Tey, alam ko wala na rin siyang class eh.
Pumasok ako sa room ko and found ate lying on my bed, her eyes glued on her phone.
"Pongs, how's your heart?" Her face is split into a grin, I stared at her with a baffled look. Is this really the way you'll ask your sister about her break up.
Parang ang saya naman ni ate? We haven't talked pa kasi about my break up with Amy.
Despite being confuse, I answered.
"Okay naman, ate. It's the right thing to do." I heaved a sigh and flopped down next to ate.
"Silly, I wasn't talking about your break up with Amy." She smacked me lightly and chuckled. "But, I know naman na Amy made you happy and really loved you in that one year of you two being together pero what you did is the best thing nga. About time palayain niyo sarili niyo."
Eto na naman, why does it feel like lahat sila may alam na ako lang ang hindi nakakaalam?
"Eh anong tinutukoy mo?"
"I saw the tweets about you and Maddie, with pictures pa." Ate teased, her tone suggestive as she wiggle her brows.
"What are you trying to say?"
"Ponggay, ate mo ako, I know you. You may not tell me things but I know, nakikita ko, the way you look at Maddie, how your eyes sparkle matching the smile on your face, the way you do extra things for her and I saw how sad you've been since she started ignoring you. I was just waiting for you to tell me, pero I guess nahihiya ka or nahihirapan iacknowledge yung feelings mo for my best friend. Tapos nagulat ako when I found out na kayo na ni Amy, I kept my mouth shut kahit na nakikita kong hindi ka kasing saya ng dati." She paused and sat up straight, her hand on my shoulder. "Don't be afraid to tell me things, I'm your sister. Kakampi mo ako palagi."
I hugged ate and my tears started to flow freely from my eyes, finally, nakaiyak ako. I've been holding it back kasi hindi ko rin maintindihan kung anong dapat kong maramdaman. Nasasaktan ako na nasaktan ko si Amy pero mas higit akong nasasaktan sa patuloy na pag iwas ni Maddie. What happened earlier made me miss her eveh more.
Ang tagal kong tinago yung nararamdaman ko para kay Maddie kasi natatakot at naguguluhan ako, natatakot akong mawala siya saakin pero it turns out kahit anong gawin ko, mawawala pa rin siya.
"I love her, ate." I sobbed.
"Shh, I know, I know." Ate kept rubbing my back as she rocks us back and forth.
"I was so scared to lose her ate pero I ended up losing her. I miss her so much."
"It may not be evident pero I'm sure Maddie misses you too. Don't tell her ha, pero she secretly takes care of you."
I pulled away to look at ate.
"Pongs, many times already, Maddie talks to me to do things for you. Tsaka do you really think ako gumagawa ng ibang requirements mo? Hello, I'm too lazy kahit mahal kita." Ate wiped my tears and laughed, I let out a chuckle.
"I don't understand her din pero I'm sure you're important kay Maddie. Trust her lang okay?"
"But what if ate I'm too late na? Na kahit yung friendship man lang namin hindi ko na mabalik."
"Impossible, masyado kang mahalaga sakanya para hayaan niyang mawala ka ng tuluyan at yang meron kayo."
"Talaga, ate?"
"Really. Now dry your tears and be patient on getting her back, okay? Maddie is stubborn, you would know that."
I nodded and fixed myself. I gave ate another hug.
"Thank you, ate. Most especially for accepting and loving me for who I am. I love you so much."
"I love you more, little sis. I'll always protect you. And choose your happiness okay? Because knowing you're happy makes me happy also."
This talk we had lifted another weight off my chest.
I'll keep holding on, sana ganon ka rin Maddie.

I entered the room and saw Deanna, Ria, Jules and Syd na naglalaro sa may living room, tapos si Jho nakahiga sa may carpet sa center table.
"Nakita niyo ba si Maddie?"
"Kasama si Bea, bumili ng food." Jho's eyes never left her laptop, she seems busy doing something.
"Wow pursigido" Deanna said with a smirk after successfully pushing Ria off of her.
"Shut up, Deanna." I rolled my eyes, and sat on the couch.
"Eh ikaw, ate Jho, buti alam mo kung nasaan si ate Bei. Okay na kayo?" Tanong ni Sydney.
Jhoanna furrowed her brows then gave Syd a questioning look.
"Okay naman talaga kami ni Bea ah."
"Hay nako ewan ko sainyo. Basta tayo sissy wag tayong tutulad sa mga mag ~bff~ na yan ha." Jules said then high-fived a laughing Syd.
Jho rolled her eyes at them and turned back her attention to her laptop.
I shook my head while chuckling, since the day na tinulungan ako ni Maddie palagi na akong sumusunod sakanya. I know it annoys her so much but I choose to ignore it, I'd rather endure her kasungitan than her cold treatment towards saakin. I've tried many times to get her to talk to me but I always fail. You can't easily make her do something na ayaw niya. I guess I just have to wait and trust her.
I ignored Deanna's questions and felt my eyelids getting heavy. I'm starting to feel how tiring this day had been.
When I opened my eyes, I am no longer in the living room and unlike earlier, I'm alone na in this all too familiar room.
A smile crawled its way to my lips when I fully recoghized whose room I am in. Her scent filled my nose as I inhaled.
My heart begins to flutter as I thought about her carrying me upstairs.
I have a lot of doubts but one thing I am sure of is that she really cares for me.
Because here I am now, wrapped in Maddie's arms as she sleeps peacefully beside me.
Don't worry, Maddie, I will never leave you.
