It is a bright and sunny day in the Philippines, despite the early hour the sun is already high. Today's gonna be a hot day but the Lady Eagles can't complain despite their discomfort in their rooms because they are given a three-day break from training because it's Holy week.

Maddie was suppose to have a good sleep if it weren't for her girlfriend, who's up early and cheeful for someone who is not a morning person.

"Love, it's too early please let me sleep." Maddie groaned half asleep, burying her face on her pillow.

"But I have a surprise for you." Ponggay whined tugging onto her girlfriend's arm.

When Maddie finally opened her eyes, Ponggay took it as an opportunity to pull off the best pout and puppy eyes she could ever do. Maddie's a goner, she knew she'd never win for as long as it's about Ponggay.

"Alright, alright. I'm up na, what is it ba, love?" She leaned her head on the headboard, rubbing her eyes as she look at her girlfriend expectantly.

"Tada!" Ponggay enthusiastically said, waving what seemed to be plane tickets.

"What are those?"

"Plane tickets." She said in a matter of fact tone, and did an eye roll.

"I know, babe. You know what I'm trying to say." With that Maddie imitated what Ponggay did.

"Remember you said in an interview that you want to travel more after you graduated and I remembered it's been a while since our last travel together. So I thought why not start traveling now, kaya lang kasama mo ako and-,"

Maddie noticed how Ponggay's playing with her fingers, a nervous habit, and decided it would be best to butt-in now.

"You're rambling, but you're also amazing." She beamed before pulling her in for a kiss. "I love you." Maddie mumbled.

A contented sigh escaped her lips, "I love you more."

Maddie found out that her girlfriend already prepared what they needed last night after she fell asleep and all she have to do is prepare so they can go.

She kept thanking her girlfriend still wondering how she managed to pull it off.

Did she even sleep last night? She thought to herself.

Spontaneous, that's how Maddie describes Ponggay and it also one of the many things she love about the woman. She is a happy go lucky person but also knows where she's going. Driven by her passion, and her girlfriend is passionate about a lot of things. That's why Maddie's not totally surprised that Ponggay did something like this, that doesn't changed the fact that she's amazed though.

Between the two of them Ponggay is the reckless one, who's more outgoing and loose. The fact that Maddie is the complete opposite balances their relationship perfectly.

"Ang tagal niyo naman." An impatient Bea greeted them, who has her arms crossed as she sit on the lobby.

"You're coming?" Maddies asks.

"Wow hindi mo man lang tinago yang disappointment mo ah. But no, to make you happy. Ihahatid ko lang kayo because I am the best bestfriend you'd ever have." Bea answered, her frown turned into a grin.

Maddies swears that Bea easily changes her mood and facial expression.

The couple arrived just in time for lunch. Ponggay had an internal battle whether to continue her slumber or devour the food the hotel prepared for them.

They both decided to have a decent meal so they can rest after and watch the sunset later.

Despite being together everyday the pair doesn't run out of topic to talk about, they are always eager to discover things together maybe it be about the other or just life in general.

Since it's peak season there are a lot of tourists and some recognised them, they weren't worried though it's not like their relationship is a secret. The two are just really trying to keep it lowkey for Maddie and Ponggay hates issues, especially Maddie.

Ponggay is an open book while Maddie, she's like an art you have to keep looking to understand her. Just like art, she's ethereal, she's captivating.

Little did Maddie know her girlfriend prepared yet another surprise for her; a fancy dinner by the beach.

Most days, the two would spend their time in the comfort of their room eating junk food and watching movies, series, kdramas or blackpink's videos.

They would choose being in their sweaters than dressing up any day. But it wouldn't hurt to be fancy sometimes right? Both are wearing beautiful summer dresses that fits them perfectly.

They were watching the beautiful scenery before them when Kehlani's song "Honey" started playing. It's one of their songs, Maddie's hand automatically reaches for Ponggay's and brought it to her lips to give it a soft and delicate kiss.

Their eyes burning with love.

Maddie pulled Ponggay and started guiding her to dance. They were doing some silly dance moves along with the music.

Then Maddie rested her hands on Ponggay's waist, the latter wrapping hers on her girlfriend's neck.

Their eyes are locked, a soft smile grazing both their lips.

Maddie started singing softly, "All, all, all, all the pretty girls in the world but I'm in this space with you. Colored out the lines I came to find, my fire was fate with you. My heartache would stay with you. Escape with you."

When they hugged they felt their heartbeat synchronizing. Their hearts became one.

They are each other's first love and they would both fight against all odds to make it last.

Little did they both know, it was a calm before the storm.
