A/N: Unless you guys don't want me to...I will be changing the name of this story to Bumblestripe's Insanity/Madness. Could help me pick which one, please? Anyhow thanks for reading this enjoy! Sorry it's short but I hope you enjoy!

Tigerheart POV

My jaw dropped. "No...just no...it can't be her!"

My sister, Dawnpelt, wrinkled her nose and gave me a weird look. "Why not? It's nothing less than I'd expect out of pathetic ThunderClan cats! I mean look at Jayfeather! He's a murderer who got away with it!"

Even though Flametail had visited each of the medicine cats and confirmed that Jayfeather didn't murder him, Dawnpelt still insisted he was a killer. I will never be sure what her grudge against the grumpy medicine cat is about, though.

Dawnpelt is just a frog-brain. Dovewing isn't pathetic.

However, other cats, such as my parents, Rowanclaw and Tawnypelt, and Blackstar, our leader, were looking suspicious as well. I couldn't have them guess that I was completely and hopelessly in love with the gorgeous gray-furred she-cat.

I searched for something to say. "I mean like, it doesn't make sense! What would Dovewing get out of murdering Icecloud, and what reason would she have to do it?"

"You can't understand the logic of a murderer," Blackstar muttered.

Rosepetal had already left; her job was done. She had delivered the horrible message to ShadowClan. She was probably almost out of our territory already since our camp is very close to the ThunderClan border, which is always a concern for us.

Pinenose was panicking. "I think Dovewing is in our camp! I saw her in the medicine cat den! Our kits might be killed overnight!"

"Is this true, Littlecloud?" Blackstar asked. "Bring her out here."

The medicine cat lowered his head. "There's no need to. She's dead. She lost too much blood to make it through the night."

Blackstar breathed a sigh of relief. "Good. It's for the best that she's gone to the Dark Forest. ShadowClan doesn't need a murderer in its midst."

Meanwhile, my world was collapsing. Dovewing is dead?

Her body was brought into the clearing. I felt dizzy as I stared at her soft gray fur and the world spun. Everything shrunk to a small red dot and then I felt my legs buckle as all feeling left my body.
I collapsed onto the grass and receded into the peaceful safety of unconsciousness.

Normal POV

Dark gray trees stretched up towards the sky, which I couldn't see through the dark leafy canopy that blotted out all natural light. However much I strained my eyes trying to catch a glimpse of a patch of blue sky or a wisp of cloud, I couldn't see it. A sickly silvery mist coiled around my paws.

I peered through the darkness, knowing exactly where I was. "Show yourself. I'm not scared of you."

An almost-transparent tortoiseshell she-cat with amber eyes materialized in front of me and gave a bitter laugh. "You should be."

"Mapleshade," I said, acknowledging her presence with a dip of my head.

Mapleshade circled around me, giving me a careful inspection. "You have done a great job with the first two murders. Now, the Dark Forest wants to help you to kill off the rest of the Clan."

I stormed off at this. "I don't need help. Not from you, or any cat, dead or alive."

"Stop!" She had caught up to me and stepped in front of me. "You want to succeed? You want to learn the true skills of deception and murder..."

I glared at her. "I've been doing pretty fine on my own. Now leave, because I'm not afraid to kill you too."

Mapleshade didn't try to convince me to join her anymore. I think she knew she wouldn't be able to. I was stubborn about being left to my own devices. She didn't try to physically stop me from leaving either, because she knew I was too strong to restrain. And even if she could stop me, I don't think she would hurt one of her own. Not when I'm preparing to kill off my whole Clan. Except for maybe Blossomfall. When I'm leader, she'll be my deputy.

The Dark Forest. What worthless, despicable creatures. They're only here because they failed.

I won't wind up here.

I won't fail.
