CHAPTER 6: Rotten Eggs...

SCARS POV;

Alarm clocks; because every morning starts with a heart attack.

"Catnip! Ass. Out of bed. Now!" Mum's very persistent when it comes to getting out of bed, sadly. I'm not sure if I told you that I asked my mum to call me Catnip, or maybe I did, explains the nickname in one way, books another, but funny family nicknames beats both.

An idea pops into my head and I can't help but smirk, I reluctantly get out of bed and move to my window where I fist pump the air; seeing my neighbours window open, I run down stairs towards the kitchen.

As I run past, mum raises her eyebrow. As I grab what I'm looking for, I begin to run out but mum stops me. "Don!" She calls, looking at me as if I've grown a horn, dad walks in and looks at my mum and I.

"What's wrong?" Mum puts her hand to my head, testing my temperature, I can't help but roll my eyes as I know where this is going; it happens every time my feet move faster than my normal, slow pace.

"She, she was... Running" she whispered the last part to him and dad starts pacing like it was a real shock and maybe even an alien attack.

"Are you sure about this?" Mum nods, still holding me by my shoulders.

Ever since I was able to walk, you would never get me to run no matter how hard anyone tried, I don't know why I hate it so much but I do; so I keep to my pace. Dad moves my mum out the way and beings to shake me.

"D-dad... You're... Gonna... Make... My... Brain... Fall out... My... Nose!" I say, as he continues to shake me in a very violent way.

"What have you done to my daughter?" Dad yells at my slightly dizzy figure; I can see mum from the corner of my eye, trying to hide her laughter but, failing, she's really not doing it very well.

"Shauna, I think it's time to take her to the vet" he fakes heart break, wiping a fake tear away from his eye as mum really does wipe a tear away. We all go silent, looking at each other, before we're all leaning on each other in hysterics.

"OK, I'm gonna go before I'm squished" I tell mum as dad tries to find his balance. She nods and goes to help dad but ends up on the floor again, with dad on top of her and in another fit of hysterics. I shake my head and run up the stairs, tripping a few times in my rush. 'Accomplishment unlocked' I do a slight happy dance towards my window where "what's his face" is snoring away.

My amo is ready and at aim, 'three... Two...'. "One!" I let the egg fly through the window and land on his back, I had slightly cracked the shell just to help the explosion of rotten egg a little easier. I'm so glad mum and dad hadn't thrown these away, well they didn't exactly know about them because you never really saw either of them in the kitchen, I was basically the parent in the house, not mum nor dad; me. To be honest, I wouldn't change that, I love my life; well, I do now...

I watch as the greyish substance trickles down his back and around his neck, I gag slightly but find myself in another fit of laughter. My recovery comes quickly when I find he hasn't woken up to smell my little surprise, I mean seriously, I can smell that from here. I turn and gently pick up another one; aim and throw.

I fist pump the air when it lands close to his head, with that, he's a blur through my already, blurry tear streaked eyes as he shoots out of bed. I suddenly hear laughter from behind me and I turn to see my parents standing in my door way, mum laughing and dad not looking very impressed at my actions.

My dad gives an angry face that anyone would back away with, I feel the smirk from my Neighbour, and put my hand behind my back, giving him the finger before looking back to my dad, who surprises me with the line "now is that any way to treat our new neighbour?"
