She saw her world crumble piece by piece as he was walking away. She tried and tried not to show her vulnerability. At that very moment, all she felt were the burning tears behind her eyes. As he turned the corner and was out of sight, one of her tears escaped. As soon as it hit the hardwood floor, the deep blue sadness boiled into red, hot anger. Before she knew it, her fist was in the wall. She didn't feel the physical pain; the emotional pain was too overwhelming. Her fist still in the wall, she screamed with all her might. She felt like her voice carried away her anger just in that one scream, because after that, she took her fist out, sat down on the floor, and cried. She cried more than she ever had in her life. She cried so much, she didn't know if she could ever stop. She didn't know if she could ever move on from this. Her life was lonely without him. She gave everything to him, including parts of herself that she promised never to give away. She immediately regretted it all when he left without any emotion. He left without an ounce of sadness in his eyes. She couldn't figure out how he could leave like that when they had spent a decade investing in each other. When they were living the life that they dreamed of as children. When they were both 15, he told her that she was his world and his whole universe. How could he leave when she was still in love?
