Nervously, I stood in front of the huge double doors to Mr Dolan's mansion, hesitating if I should enter or just turn back when the thought of what he told me the day before filled my mind.
I would just have to be brave and get through this because I didn't want to die so I opened the door, not bothering to knock and wait for Edward to answer.
"Kayla do you still work here?" Edward asked with a glint of hope in his emerald eyes. I shrugged with a sigh adn continued to walk to the home office, the time being 8:54. I exhaled a deep breath to boost my confidence a little but did the oposite as it came out heavy and shaky. I knockd on recieving a deep "come in" by Mr Dolan and obeyed. I opened the doors and there he was. Wearing his usual black and white suit and serious expression.
"Kayla, you've made the right choice" he said with the smallest smile I think I had ever seen but still it was a progress. I just simply nodded and stood there playing with my fingers, head down. "Shall we get going then?" he asked, walking a little closer. I nodded my head again making him slightly irritated. "Words Kayla" he grolwed lowly. "Yes Mr Dolan" I answered and we left to his drivers car. He opened the door for both of us and me and Mr Dolan slid in.
The ride was obviously quite and awkward, no one daring to break it, making the journey feel like years but soon enough we arrived. The driver once again opened our doors to which I gave a small smile.
We got in the familiar elevator and went up to his office, still no words being exchanged. I sat on the huge leather couch and Mr Dolan sat at his desk, quickly looking through a few pages that were stapled together. After he did that, he looked over to me and nodded to the chair in front of him. "Come sit here" he spoke and I did as he said, feeling even more awkward.
Thank God he didn't have any people to kill that day so instead he just went through paper work and a meeting.
