He dropped me off at my apartment once again and thanked me for the millionth time for helping him. He was actually smiling. Like a genuine smile. Can you believe that? We said our goodbyes and I walked in my apartment and threw on some sweatpants and a sweatshirt because I just wanted to relax and watch some Netflix.
After a few minutes of scrolling to find what I wanted to watch, I settled on re-watching The Vampire Diaries because it is amazing.
I fell into a deep, peaceful sleep soon after. When I woke up, it was getting light outside so it was pretty early in the morning. 5:30 to be exact. Sighing, I stood up annoyed for waking up this early and not being tired and made some breakfast which was just some toast because I couldn't be bothered.
I scrolled through my Instagram and had a quick look at my twitter and there wasn't much so I put down my phone and decided to have a nice hot bubble bath with candles because why not? When I was one, I hopped out and wrapped the fluffy towel around my body and dried my hair and brushed my teeth.
Unsure, I picked up my phone again and called Grayson to see if I should go to work since the time was now 7:50, he would already be awake. After a few seconds, he picked up. "Kayla?" he asked to make sure.
"Yeah uh, should I come in work today or..." I trailed off. "Uhh you came in yesterday and you didn't have to so it's up to you. If you could that would be great but you did do a lot yesterday so you can take the day off if you would like" he answered.
"I have nothing else to do so I guess I'll be there soon" I responded, walking to my tiny walk-in closet full of clothes. "Ok. I'll see you soon" he replied and we hung up. I changed into some black jeans with a white flowy shirt and some short heels and grabbed my black handbag and left.
I went to Starbucks and got Grayson's usual and got myself a caramel macchiato and drove to the huge building. I got into the elevator as usual and there was a woman there. She looked kinda scared and nervous but she looked like a nice person.
"Hey are you ok?" I asked. "Yes I just have a job interview and I'm a little nervous" she smiled. "Hey you'll be fine just relax a bit" I smiled back and she nodded. "I'm Olivia" she said as she held out her hand.
"Kayla. Nice to meet you" I responded as the doors opened and she got out. For the rest of the way up it was just me which didn't happen very often but I was grateful for not being awkward and a moment later, I was at Grayson's office.
I knocked on and he told me to come in and smiled when I did. I handed him his drink and he said thank you and sat back at his desk. He handed me a stack of papers that I had to organise the names with the alphabet which was easy enough. There was a lot to do though but I managed to complete it within 10-15 minutes which surprised me.
Grayson went for a meeting and said I could come with him so I did. When we got there, there were around 8 other people that were already sat down and all stopped talking when we walked in. I sat next to Grayson like I did the first time and the meeting started.
"One of your employees, Jake Adams, has told contacted Richardson's friends with information that could dramatically impact the company and they informed us that they have a deal. We give them $1million and they won't say anything or they will ruin the business and could kill some of the workers" one of them said with worry and fear.
Grayson's jaw clenched and so did his fists. "Well we need to create a plan. I refuse to be blackmailed by disgusting little thieves" he stated, clearly very irritated. The people nodded and we all started contributing ideas for the plan.
"We could have them meet us somewhere secluded and make them believe we will give them the money" one suggested. "But how many are there. That is a huge risk. If we make this ambush it could backfire. We need the numbers so we know how many people will go" I thought out loud and they all looked at me.
Grayson seemed a little surprised that I would contribute and he smiled. "I know a place where we could organize the meet up. I know it in and out like the back of my hand so if something really does go wrong, we have a backup" he said.
He ended the meeting so he could come up with a proper plan and we went back up to the office. I sat in the chair in front of his desk and he said in his. "Do you wanna come with me?" He asked.
"To the mission?" I questioned a little uneasy but excited for some weird reason. He nodded. "Yeah sure" I answered and he smiled slightly.
After finishing the plan, we went through it again and it would take place on the weekend so we had a few days to prepare.
It would be me, Grayson, his brother who I still hadn't met and a guard for the start and if anything went wrong like we needed backup, there would be around 10 other guards coming as well but they would be hidden.
from what I have heard, Grayson and his brother were really good at what they did and were very good at fighting and weapons and I have seen Grayson shoot that sick man and when he beat up Jack.
The rest of the day was just me organising and giving paper to people as usual and I went to get us some lunch which was chicken salad.
Just before I left to go home, Grayson spoke. "Tomorrow wear some casual, comfy clothes and meet me here because I have to take you somewhere. See you at 9?" he asked and I nodded. "Bye Grayson" I said and the elevator doors closed.
