IMPORTANT-
SO IN THIS STORY, GRAYSON HAS DEVELOPED FEELINGS FOR KAYLA WHICH IS WHY HE IS BEING SO DIFFERENT BUT HE IS SCARED OF LETTING HER IN AND HE IS CONFUSED AND STRUGGLING. I WILL EXPLAIN WHY HE IS SO SCARED OF GETTING CLOSE TO PEOPLE AND WHY HE IS THE WAY HE IS LATER ON IN THE STORY BUT IT WILL BE PRETTY INTERESTING (IK I ALWAYS SAY THAT BUT JUST TRUST ME OKAY? I PROMISE)
I had a nice refreshing shower which helped get rid of some of the ache from working out and put on some skinny black jeans with a black Adidas tee. I threw my hair up in a messy bun and slid on my Adidas trainers before going back downstairs.
Edward had told me that dinner would be served in a few minutes so I sat at the dining table where I had previously sat. Grayson wasn't there yet so I just went on my Instagram and then Twitter. My phone buzzed in my hand and my friend had sent me a Dm on Instagram.
(IDK IF THESE ARE REAL PEOPLE OR NOT I JUST MADE THEM UP AND JADE IS KAYLA'S MIDDLE NAME)

I put my phone down and Grayson walked in. He sat down in his usual place and then dinner was served. We ate in a kind of comfortable silence until he broke it.
"We can get some more of your belongings tomorrow since we don't really have to go in" he informed me. "Oh ok" I said. "And just to remind you, the mission is on Saturday" he said before eating some more of his steak.
I gulped slightly. I was really nervous but for some reason a part of me was excited. I nodded and he clenched his jaw again. He did that every time I didn't speak. Once again, he finished eating way before me and stayed at the table, waiting for me.
I finished and he smiled at me, which I returned a little confused. "I would like to speak to you in my office" he stated and I got up and followed him. He sat in his desk chair and I sat opposite with my legs crossed and my hands clasped together in my lap.
"As you know, the mission is on Saturday so I just wanted to make sure you won't back out last minute. It is obviously extremely dangerous but don't worry, we are all good at what we do and from what I've seen so far, you are going to be very skilled" he said.
"I won't back out I promise" I confirmed. "Good. We'll stick together so if we need plan B I can protect you" he said before saying I could go to my room or whatever. I sat on my bed, thinking for a few minutes before putting my earphones in and doing a few push ups and practicing some of the self defence techniques Grayson and Kiah had taught me when I heard something.
I took out one of my earphones and listened for around thirty seconds before the noise happened again. It sounded like something smashing. I became alert and cautious as I slowly approached my bedroom door and opened it.
I quietly snuck round the corner near the stairs and crouched down so I could see. An unfamiliar man was there and there was smashed vases scattered on the floor. I moved around so I could see more of the huge hall and then I saw Grayson.
He was tied to a chair and breathing heavily in anger. "Give me the money Grayson!" The man screamed, his face red. I stood up and crept down the stairs carefully and luckily he didn't seem to notice.
Grayson's eyes met mine and went wide as he low key tried to tell me to stop without the guy seeing. I shook my head and snuck behind the guy before grabbing his shoulder making him turn rapidly. As soon as he turned fully, I punched him in the nose and then the ribs.
He began to punch back but I dodged or blocked most of them somehow. I guess I really was a fast learner since I was actually fighting like I was in an action movie. He swung at me and I caught his arm and twisted it behind his back without thinking. No one taught me this move but it seemed to be pretty affected since he winced as I pushed it further.
I kicked the back of his knee, making him kneel and wrapped my arm around his neck, strangling him. Grayson threw himself backwards and broke the chair on impact and raced to me. "I got this" he said darkly and I let go of the guy.
Grayson then helped the guy up and I was so confused. "What are you doing!?" I asked. "You passed the test" he said proudly, ignoring my question. "What!?" I yelled, furious. "It was a test and you passed. You are better than I thought actually. You're definitely ready for the mission" he chuckled.
The guy nodded, still kinda shocked. He had a bloody nose, busted lip, split eyebrow and bruises all over his face. "I'm Will" he stuck his hand out but I didn't take it. I just glared at them both. "Kayla it was just a test to see if you were ready calm down" Grayson ordered and I sighed before shaking his hand.
"Kayla" I said lowly. I looked at him and he had blue/green eyes with kinda long blonde hair and he was pretty tall and built. I honestly had no idea how I stood a chance against him. Even if I had been training for years, I wouldn't expect to beat him especially with less then a week of training.
"I guess I'll go and get myself cleaned up" Will said, holding his jaw and wincing slightly. I kinda felt bad now but I also didn't. He came back soon after and Grayson was talking to me in the living room.
Will joined and soon after, he left and Grayson looked at the time. "10 o'clock" he said under his breath and leaned more into the back of the comfy couch we were sitting on. He turned on the TV and the news came on. It was kinda boring- nothing really going on so he turned it over and finally found some TV show.
After it ended, we both went to sleep and the last think that crossed my mind before closing my eyes was how excited I was for the mission and how I beat Will like that. It was really weird.
