It has been almost two weeks since that.

Jack was trying her best to ignore the pain tearing apart her heart. After all, she made a promise and she wasn't one to betray her words. That's why she kept her mind occupied as much as possible.

Discovering Kouka's kingdom was helping. So far she had discovered and visited a lot of villages, yet she never stayed very long, she prefered the solitude. The calmness of the forest soothed her wounded spirit. However, as she traveled she could not help but to note that most of the villages were not very rich. The kingdom wasn't in its highest.

But, that didn't stop her from finding nice weapons in some town she passed by. Tossing away her poor little knife for a set of daggers and a bow and quiver she was now prepared for traveling.

Plus, a bow would be useful to hunt. She needed something else than just berries to survive.

Jack was walking aimlessly, following an unknown path when she heard voices ahead. Many men voices.

Bandits?

Stepping out of the path, she proceeded to walk forward soundlessly between the trees. That's when she saw a strange group of four people. There were two girls hiding in the bushes while two men stood in front of dozen of men.

Crap, they are going to be beaten to the bones.

Jack decided to help them from afar, not wanting to let herself known. She climbed up a tree and sat on a branch which let her see clearly the bandits. Taking an arrow, she waited for the fight to begin.

Then, as one of the bandits came dangerously closer to one of the two men he was thrown back. Jack's eyes widened as she saw the right hand of the man growing. Wait, it wasn't a hand but white claws. She could distinctly hear the man speaking.

"You shouldn't touch me so carelessly."

Then, the other one unwrapped his...spear?! and they began beating up the group of bandits leaving no room for Jack to fire any arrow. Therefore, she just sat on her branch dumbfounded watching them.

Yet, she noticed one of the bandits coming after the two girls. Without waiting, she fired her arrow on the man's shoulder just as the two warriors punched him.

Good. Everyone is safe now. She thought. She just had to wait for the group to continue their journey so that she could climb down her tree without getting spotted.

However, the Gods must have decided something else because the black haired man suddenly raised his head to look straight in her direction.

"Show yourself. We know you are here."

She had been busted. With a sigh, Jack climbed down. Might as well say 'hi'.

As she approached the group, all she saw was suspicious glares directed toward her.

Okay, maybe that wasn't a good idea.

Then, the white haired man spoke. "Who are you? Are you here to threaten us?" He made sure to let his clawed hand clearly visible to the girl's eyes.

Jack gulped loudly, raising both hands in a 'I-am-not-dangerous-I-swear' way.

"Huh, I am no threat. I certainly do not want to end like those guys here. I just happened to see you out there and thought you needed some help. Well, I must say that you didn't need help at all."

An "Oh" came out of everyone's mouth as they listened to the girl's explanation. Stepping out of her spot (which was behind the black haired man), a girl with a cloak adressed to Jack.

"Thank you, it was very courageous of you, wanting to help us. What's your name?"

Only then, Jack noticed the bright red hair that girl possessed.

Bright hair. Spear. Warrior.

And so, something clicked in her mind. Jack knew she was in front of the princess and former general of the wind tribe. The princess everyone in this kingdom thought was dead was actually standing there, wearing traveling clothes and smiling kindly at her. Such a kind smile on a girl whom have had a rough time.

"The name's Jack."

Hearing that, the other girl spoke "Huh? That's a boy's name isn't it?"

Jack suddenly began to laugh. "Coming from a guy who looks like a girl it's kinda funny you know."

The girl whom was in fact a boy huffed in annoyance.

"I'm a pretty boy and a genius, just so you know."

Loosing his patience, the general asked what everyone wanted to know. "Anyways, Jack, what do you want from us?"

Jack made up her mind pretty quickly and answered honestly. "I am a traveller, I don't have a home anymore and I have no idea of what I will do. However, the only thing I know for sure is that you are the former general Hak and that you are princess Yona of Kouka's kingdom. Oh I also know that you are traveling with a lizard-like man and a pretty boy" She said that last sentence sending a wink to the latest two. "So, if you accept me, I'd be honored to travel with you."

Without any hesitation, Yona accepted, leaving no room for the suspicious Hak to speak.

"Sure! It would be good to have another girl with us. Let me reintroduce us: I am Yona, this is Kija and Yoon. And the grumpy uncute male next to me is Hak. I need to borrow the power of the four dragons, so we are currently searching for them, Kija is the Hakuryu."

"The princess is the reincarnation of king Hiryuu!" Kija stepped in eagerly.

Jack stared at them in shock. So it was true then, that legend wasn't a legend anymore. Regaining her composure, she smiled at her new companions.

"Well, I feel honored to travel with such company. Then, if we are looking for the four dragons, where should we head to?"

"That's what I'd like to know, Kija." Said Yoon, taking is map.

"Yeah White snake, show us the way" added Hak, leaning on his spear.

Wait. What?

"Lizard, you are a compass?" Asked Jack to a very pissed Kija.

"My precious dragon blood let me sense my brothers! And don't call me lizard!"

Hak couldn't suppress a chuckle as he heard Jack's nickname for Kija. "Lizard! You are getting a new nickname White snake."

As the three of them began to argue, Yoon's angry voice raised. "Shut it you beasts! We need to know where to go next before I make dinner."

At the word 'dinner' everyone went still. After all, food is food.

Sitting next to Yona, with a warm fire in front of her, Jack thought that this was the closest to a home she had ever been to, since her departure.
