Few days had past since the anouncement of King Il's death. The town was back to its normal state although the citizens experienced less thieveries than usual.

Indeed, the children at the curch caught the flu. Well, Akira caught the flu during one of her expeditions, and she gave it to Miko as they were always together. And then it spreaded to all of them, leaving Liam and Jack exhausted as they had to take care of each one of them.

That's why Jack was currently roaming in the woods searching for some medicinals herbs in order to help the kids while Liam was watching over them. The problem here was that she wasn't a herborist, thus she didn't really know what she was looking for..

She finally found what she wanted after recalling a day when she got sick and her mother had took care of her.

It took her all the day to find the herb.

Running back home, she couldn't help but have a strange feeling. Something wasn't right and she wasn't able to pinpoint what it was. Yet, as she arrived at the end of the road and saw her home she knew. The church was the problem.

The church had collapsed on itself.

Fact was, the kids and Liam were in the church when she left them earlier.

Gasping with horror at the sight, Jack sprinted forward.

The kids.

Liam.

She abruptly stopped when she saw an arm coming from under a rock. She tried to reach it, not wanting to aknowledge what was really happening.

"He...Hey! Do you hear me? Who is it? Miko? Tsukino? Yuki? Please answer me!" Hearing no answer, she stood up.

"Just you wait, I will set you free! That rock can't be that heavy!"

And then she tried to lift the big fallen rock of the collapsed church. She tried with all her strenght but it didn't budge. Not even an inch.

As realisation hit her, Jack felt tears streaming down her cheeks. Leaving the already dead child, she ran looking around for any survivor. Calling for someone to answer her, with heartrending sobs.

She then heard a cough. A really faint one.

"Liam is that you? Where are you?"

And here, between two identical rocks a trembling hand was raised. Jack quickly grabbed it. She kneeled next to Liam whom lower part was stuck under a piece of wall. The boy tried to smile at his crying sister but coughed blood instead.

"Jack -"

"Please don't speak Liam, I... I will free you! Just wait a bit please."

Before the boy could take her hand she stood up and tried once again to lift a wall.

She tried.

Again.

And again.

Hearing Jack's desperate yell to the sky, Liam knew his time has come.

"Jack.."

As the girl stubbornely continued her efforts, he spoke louder.

"Aliandara."

Just when he said her first name, Jack stopped. Liam never had used that name.

She kneeled next to him, tears wetting her hands. With his last strenghts he gave her a bright smile.

"You are strong, I know you will have a good life. Jack listen to me, you.." He was interrupted by a cough, breathing heavily he said: "You will find hapiness again. You are like a light in the darkness, people need you to cheer them up. Never forget that. Jack, promise me you will live your life to the fullest. Promise me."

And then, with sobs ragging her whole body Jack promised to her friend and brother.

Later that day, when the moon was high in the sky, the shadow of a short girl stood up from where she sat. Grabbing a lost knife, she walked back into the forest, leaving behind her a collapsed church that was once her lively home.

The shadow never looked back.
