Chapter One

"Monroe, you need to stop." I told

myself as I clicked another one of Dan

Howell's videos. I was having a little

"marathon" of his videos.

I heard a knock at my bedroom door.

"Yes?" I called out.

"Monroe, dinner's ready." My father

called out.

"Coming." I said and turned my iMac

off. I walked down the hallway and into

the kitchen. Dad had cooked my

favorite, Spongebob shaped macaroni.

I scooped some of the yellow noodles

in a bowl and sat in my normal seat at

the table.

When I finished super, I washed my

dish and put on my Converses. I put

my jacket on as well.

"Dad, I'm going out."

"Where to?" He asked me.

"I gotta get my prescription."

"Okay." He said as I walked out the

door.

My shoes hit the pavement. It was

sprinkling a little, so I put my hood up.

I put my earbuds in and let Paramore's

"Only Exception" play on repeat. Little

raindrops fell on my black skinny

jeans.

As I was looking down at my phone,

someone bumped into me.

"I'm so sorry!" A guy said.

"It's fine!" I looked up and saw dark

skinny jeans and brown fringe. I didn't

even need to look at his face to know

who it was.

"Are you Dan? Dan Howell?" I asked.

"Yes I am. And you are?..." He smiled.

"Jade Parker, but everyone calls me by

my middle name, Monroe." I told him.

"Well, nice to meet you Monroe." He

grinned and his dimples showed.

"Can I take a picture?" I asked.

"Of course!"

I turned my iPhone's camera to the

front and Dan bent down beside me.

He kissed my cheek and I smiled and

took the picture. I posted it to Twitter.

"What's your Twitter username?" He

asked me and I told him.

He got on his phone, followed me on

twitter, and retweeted the picture. His

fans were already talking about it. It's

not everyday Dan posts a picture of

kissing a random girl on the cheek to

twitter.

"Where are you headed?" He asked me.

"Down to the drugstore just a couple

blocks away." I pointed to the

direction.

"Mind if I tag along?" He asked me.

"I don't mind at all!" I told him.
