This morning, manager oppa took the 5 of us to the YG building.
This may sound like nothing but I had never entered the artist building so it was all the more exciting for me.
At our meeting we discussed how our positions would be set out:
Jisoo- Visual, Sub-Vocals
Jennie- Lead Rapper, Lead Vocalist
Rosé-Main Vocalist
Lisa- Main Dancer, Sub-Vocals
Kiko-Main Rapper, Lead Dancer, Maknae
I hadn't made my official debut yet, and blackpink weren't scheduled to have another comeback for a while so my debut would be at the MAMA awards in Hong Kong.
Although I was excited, I was extremely nervous to be performing on such a large stage for the first time.
1 week later:
Rehearsals had begun as I had to be incorporated into their old songs and dances and trust when I say it was not easy. We practiced around 8 hours a day as it was difficult on all the members. Jennie Unnie would accidentally do my part, or Lisa Unnie would forget her postions etc. Its a very frustrating process.
The members also had their outfit fittings done earlier on in the year so it was only I who needed to get a dress and fitting done. Luckily, my members came along with me to the fitting so that we could get the options done quicker. While I was trying on the dresses in front of the mirror I noticed Rosé Unnie scurrying off as soon as her phone rang. I didn't want to make everyone else concerned by following her out of the room so I pushed it to the back of my mind.
After 2 and a half hours we settled on this outfit:

As soon as we got back to the dorm (bear in mind it was very late) all the members quickly dispersed into their rooms whereas I on the other hand took a quick shower and ran to Chaeng unnies room to ask out about the phone call earlier.
"Unnie, is everything alright?" I asked.
She turned towards me with a puzzled expression on her face. "Yeah... Why?"
I told her about how her running out the room when her phone rang seemed a bit suspicious. Jennie unnie had been standing at the entrance of the room, jumping to chaeng's defence she quickly said "Jiyeon-ie, its quite late you should be asleep instead of disturbing the other members".
I was quite surprised. I hadn't expected jennie unnie of all people to speak to me so harshly. My face started burning up and I mumbled a quiet sorry before making my way out the room.
I tossed and turned in bed all night trying to think of why they had been so rude to me. Even when jennie unnie spoke to me like that chaeng unnie didn't even try and defend me. Maybe, they don't like me.... perhaps they hate me for joining their group.... All these possibilities were running through my head.
Eventually, I knew I wouldn't be able to go to sleep so I trudged across to Lisa unnies room as she was the only one who was still awake. I knocked on her door before entering.
"Oh, Jiyeon-ie, why haven't you slept yet? Lisa Unnie asked
I told her about the incident earlier on with Rose and Jennie and she listened attentively nodding every now and then.
" I don't think they did that because they don't like you" she said " Sometimes, somethings are meant to go by unnoticed until people want to tell you"
I understood what she meant but at the same time it hurt me to know that the members were potentially hiding something from me. I sidled into Lisa Unnies bed knowing that if I went back to my bed there would be a very low chance of me sleeping.
The next few months went past fairly quickly. I hadn't really spoken to Jennie or Chaeng unnie after that day since we were so stacked up with our schedules and practices. Its not that I didn't want to fix things between them but I felt rather awkward about it. They evidently seemed sorry towards me too. Every so often I would glance up and see Rose Unnie giving me a pitiful smile or jennie unnie giving me a quick pat on the head after a practice.
Yet, they seemed quite content hiding things away from me. I still saw Rosé unnie running out practices during breaks with her phone clutched in her hand or if we decided to do something together she would more often than not just spend time on her phone.
