I had been brushing up on my rap and dance lessons since the news that I would be joining blackpink. I hadn't met any of the group as they were busy with promotions for As If It's Your Last.
I woke up that morning with the sun streaming through my small window in the dorm. As i got ready for another day of training I opened my door to leave to find myself face to face with a YG staff. She gave me a glare before proceeding to hand me a white sheet of paper. It read:
"KIKO,
PLEASE BE READY AT 10:30AM TO MEET THE BLACKPINK MEMBERS. APPROPRIATE CLOTHING IS REQUIRED. YG STAFF WILL BE ESCORTING YOU THERE.
THANK YOU."
I stared in disbelief. The YG staff gave me a disapproving look when she saw my mouth open in awe. "Have you never seen idols before?" she questioned, a smirk plastered across her milky white skin, "No, I'm too busy trying to become one" I snapped. Shutting the door in her face I ran over to the small wardrobe that held my clothes.
I stood around 20 minutes trying to figure out what to wear before settling on an outfit:

I opened the door to find a note that told me to head to the reception
When I got there, a woman with mid length, jet black hair greeted me and took me to a van just outside the dorm building. She got in the van with me and alerted me that the drive would take around 20 minutes. I did not want to come across as rude to her as she seemed friendly and so I attempted to make conversation with her: " Sorry I didn't ask earlier but whats your name?" I asked. She smiled before answering " Kang Young Won, You're Rhiannon right?, Do you have a Korean name?" she asked. I was taken a back as no one in the short while that I was here had asked me that question. "Yeah, It's Lee Jiyeon". "What do you prefer being known as?". I told her that I liked my korean name much more than my english one but now that my stage name has been decided I think I'm growing to like Kiko too.
A while later we had reached outside a small cafe, just out the busy streets of Seoul. Youngwon Unnie had led me inside and seated me at a table since the blackpink members had not yet arrived. She herself took a seat 2 tables away from me.
Around 10 minutes later, the cafe door jingled and the blackpink members strutted in. Literally. They could make a swamp look like their runway. I stood up after admiring their god-like beauty and politely greeted them.
"So cute!" Rosé sunbae squealed. As soon as I thanked her, she urged me to call her unnie as I was younger than her. Jisoo, Jennie and Lisa followed suit.
After asking me various questions to me and I to them we had spent almost 2 hours in the cafe. I had grown very close to them as i found out that i shared common interests with the members.
Just before leaving they all gave me their phone numbers and urged me to come to their dorms as soon as possible.
