We finish breakfast & head upstairs to get ready. I dive into the shower & when I return I find that J has laid out an outfit for me, black skinny's, duck egg blue blouse (his favourite) & my black pumps.

Once we are ready, he leads me to the car.
"Are you ready for this?" He asks nervously, as we buckle up.
"Ready for what?" I question as I gently squeeze his leg for reassurance.
"You'll see" he smiles.

After a short, but familiar drive, we arrive at Jon & Harley's farm. I look at Jordan,
"Why are we here, J?"
"Just wait and see" he responds.
I'm confused, I love it here, the open space, the peacefulness, the orchard, the animals. We park up, Jordan takes me hand & leads me up the familiar track to the orchard. As we get closer, I notice that a swing has been set up on one of the biggest trees & what looks like a blanket on the ground. I look at the man I love, "Jon & Harley been busy again?"
Jordan nods & smiles. He gestures for me to sit on the swing & I notice an ice bucket, a familiar bottle & two glasses. I sit on the swing as he pours us a glass of yet more Moët & adds a couple of strawberries to each glass. He suddenly looks very nervous as he hands me my glass.
Instead of sitting next to me, he stands in front of of me & says "Close your eyes, sweetheart"
As I close my eyes, I feel the warmth of the sun & the hear the birds singing sweetly in the orchard behind me.
"You can open them now, Vicki".
I open my eyes to find him knelt on one knee before me, holding out a small box containing the most beautiful diamond & sapphire ring I have ever seen.
My heart start racing & my eyes fill with tears as he starts to speak,
"Vicki, we've been through so much in our time together, some of it good, some of it bad, but we've always been strong & been there for each other. You are my best friend, my world, my everything & I want it to be that way forever,"
Jordan's voice starts to crack as he continues,
"Vicki, I love you with all my heart. Would you please do me the honour of becoming Mrs Knight & marrying me?"
By now, we both have tears in our eyes. I can barely speak my answer, "Yes, Jordan", is all I can manage. He places the ring on my finger, scoops me up in his arms, kisses me & spins me around. When he eventually releases me & seats me back on the swing & sits next to me. I look at him, look at my ring & all I can do is smile. We sip our drinks, in blissful silence.
"Hey, c'mon" he breaks the silence, "there's two people down there dying to know"
We finish our drinks, gather up the blanket & champagne & head back to the house. We walk hand in hand, every so often, Jordan lifts my hand & kisses the stunning ring he has just placed there.

We walk into the homely farmhouse kitchen. Jon & Harley are sat at the table, surrounded by plans, they look up as they hear us enter.
"Well, looking at the pair of you, I take it the answer was yes?" Jon says.
I nod my head in response, still unable to believe this is true. They both jump up from the table & congratulate us.
"Welcome to the family, sis!" Jon says as he hugs me.
We sit & chat for a while, drinking the rest of the Moët (which is going to my head as I haven't eaten since breakfast). I look at Jordan, "J, I'm getting hungry"
"Ok, Mrs Knight to be, we've bored these two enough. Let's get you fed, I don't want you getting all grumpy on me!" He laughs.
We say our goodbyes & head off home. Back at home, we grab whatever we can find & eat quickly, sat out on the patio.
I still can't believe my luck, lost deep in thought, staring at my hand, Jordan brings me back to the present,
"Hey, sweetheart, you ok?" He asks quietly. He wraps me in his arms, resting my head on his chest.
"Yeah, I just can't believe this is real. I'm the girl from an English council estate, working in a nursery for underprivileged kids. Things like this just don't happen to people like me." I say looking at him & then looking back at my ring.
"If someone had said to me all those years ago, that I was going to marry Jordan Knight, I would've laughed at them. Please tell me this isn't a joke?"
"Oh my darling, why would this be a joke? I knew from the moment I walked into that nursery two years ago, I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you more than anything in this world."
He looks down at me, wipes the tears from my eyes & kisses me.

As the day wears on, we make the necessary phone calls, texts to announce our news & FaceTime calls to my family back in the UK (who were in on the whole thing).
Of course, Jordan went through the whole proposal again for my parents & reduced them both to tears. My parents were happy for me, which makes a change, for that I was thankful. They hadn't been happy with my decision to take the nannying job & move to Boston five years ago, but I had to take the risk & by the looks of things the risk had paid off. I was now in a job that I loved & engaged to the man of my dreams.
