Gary had finished getting dressed after waking up a bit more. He kept trying to ignore those strange feelings and thoughts that shot through him so quickly..which was hard, of course.

He sat at a chair in the bridge, staring down at the table in complete silence.

But, as per usual, KVN broke that silence. He breaks lots of stuff.

"Heeeey, Gary! You're real quiet! Why are you quiet? Tell me why you're quiet!" KVN crept over to Gary's face before he was shoved away.

"Go away, KVN! Go away and never come back! I'm not quiet!" He spoke defensively and waved his hands at KVN to keep him distant, staring at the floating robot with a face of disgust.

"No. Nope. Definitely something wrong. You are my best friend and-"

"Worst enemy. We are not friends." Gary interrupted with a hiss of bitter words.

"BESTEST friend! And something is totally wrong, it is my obligation as your friend-"

"-Enemy." He interrupted again.

"....Tooooo help you," KVN ignored. "So how do I do that? How do I help?"

"...You.." Gary thought for a moment. "You leave. Yeah. You will totally make me feel better if you just left me alone frickin' ENTIRELY for the rest of the day."

"Ohhh!" KVN paused. "...Uh. I can't do that! I don't wanna! Sorry! I'll go think of better things to make you feel better. Don't worry! KVN will save the day!" KVN stated before zooming away. Luckily, KVN is a dumbass, so he did exactly what Gary asked of him without realizing.

The self proclaimed captain sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose tiredly. "..God. I hate him so fu-"

A loud 'chookity' echoed from around the corner. Gary perked up and looked towards the door as he saw Mooncake fly in.

"Little buddy!" He called out to him, allowing his small alien friend to hug his face, happily returning the embrace. "What were you doing all day? I haven't seen you the slightest bit since I woke up this morning.."

"He was bothering me." Avocato spoke, standing in the doorway. Gary looked over at him and chuckled.

"Mooncake bothering you? Impossible. He doesn't bother anybody." Gary pat Mooncake on the head, which earned him a quiet and content hum from the creature.

"Yeah, no, he was bothering me quite a bit. Heh." Avocato glanced at Mooncake. "He kept getting in my face and trying to pull me somewhere. I don't know why. Eventually I chased him away into Quinn's room so he could bother her." He snickered. Gary couldn't help but chuckle under his breath.

"Probably found a bug! He likes bugs!"

Mooncake nodded at Gary, confirming his statement as true. Though, the nod seemed kind of forced and not genuine..

"Well make sure he knows I ain't one for bugs, since you're the apparent alien whisperer." Avocato teased, chuckling.

Gary watched Avocato leave the room. The second he was sure his friend was gone, he hugged Mooncake a little tighter. "He's...he's really cool, huh, lil buddy?" He glanced down at his alien companion, who hummed in agreement.

"..Yeah..." He mumbled to himself, getting lost in his thoughts once again.

He remembered what happened a little while after he talked to Avocato in the commissary.
It wasn't a nice thing to remember.
