~3 years back~

The streets were creepily silent as usual. I walked down the footpath, the dry leaves crunching noisily under my feet.

I looked at my house which looked spooky and gloomy from a distance.

I always wanted to shift. I always got weird vibes from the place.

It started again. I could hear whispers in my ear. I turned around. There wasn't anyone.

The voices were getting louder and more annoying day by day.

I went into my room and slammed the door shut. I shook my head to make the voices go away.

"GO AWAY!", I yelled, clutching the sides of my head.

"Honey, you alright?",I heard my mom's voice from the door.

"Y-Yeah Mom.", I replied.

I took in a deep breath.

I seriously have no control over this curse.

I somehow managed to block out the voices by concentrating on some random flower pot sitting in the corner of my bedroom.

It was really weird. One moment, I would be hearing voices of random people around me and in the next moment, they'll stop as soon as I concentrate or focus on something.

Then suddenly, I heard a voice inside my head, again.
Just one voice, not a cluster of voices like usual.

I concentrated on that particular voice. It was quite familiar.

I closed my eyes.

I heard bits of what the person was thinking.

Best spot....no one will know...no one needs to know....quick and easy...

The voice was very familiar. My eyes widened when I realized it was Julia's voice.

My sister's voice had this sweet edge to it which really popped out when she sang.

What is she planning to do?

Paranoia started creeping up on me.

I rushed to the room beside mine.
"Julia? Open the door!", I said loudly.

"What do you want?", I heard a muffled voice.

"Are you crying?", I asked.
"No. Please leave me alone. Go away."
"Not until you tell me what's wrong. Open the door Julia."
"Don't you get it? Leave me alone!"
"Open the door, Julia!"

There was no response.
"Open the door Goddamit!"

I decided to get the extra keys from the cabinet but the moment I turned, Julia's door burst open.

Before I could perceive what was happening, Julia rushed out of the room and went down the stairs, her face hidden by her hands.

I followed her. She was a slow runner but I was slower than her, believe it or not.

I could not catch up with her. And just like that, in a matter of ten seconds, she had climbed the top of the small tower behind our house.

It used to be an electricity tower but it had disfunctioned once or twice so the power supply to it was cut off. It was now just a plain, old tower sitting behind our house.

Don't get confused when I say it was a small tower. It was approximately sixty feet up in the air but it was smaller compared to other towers in our locality.

In a blink of an eye, she was on top of the tower.

What is she planning to do?

Before I could say anything to her, she jumped.

The last thing she shouted before she jumped was
"TYLER I HATE YOU!"

I stood frozen in my spot. My sister had just jumped off a tower sixty feet high screaming that she hated her boyfriend.

Then it dawned on me.

Call me a creep but two nights ago, I heard her talking to one of her friends on the phone.

I heard some parts of the conversation but the line I had heard most clearly was,
"He cheated on me."

I saw my sister lying beside the tower.

This can't be happening.

My Julia. Happy and cheerful. Lively and beautiful. The responsible older one. Now lying in a pool of blood with a satisfied smile permanently etched on her face.
Her eyes were open, which only added to the discomfort.

No tears flowed out of my eyes. I sat down beside her body and kept looking at her.

"Drew where is Ju-", mom started as she stepped into the backyard.
Her eyes widened when she saw the sight in front of her.

Her mouth fell open and her nimble hands moved towards her mouth to cover it.

I looked at my mom.
"She's gone, mom.", I replied before walking into the house.
