Chapter-25: THE CONCLUSION

Drew's mouth hung open and so did Ethan's as Jess and I made our way to their bikes. I pushed a strand of hair behind my ear.

I went and stood near Drew who had an amazing blue suit on. I checked his whole profile and gave him an approving nod.

"You look gorgeous.", Drew whispered.
I giggled like an idiot before telling him he looked good too.

Ethan did not take his eyes off of Jess for a second. He was too dumbstruck. He was wearing a bluish-black suit.

Jess quickly pulled out her phone and clicked a selfie of the four of us. I checked the watch. We had fifteen minutes left to reach the campus.

"Guys hurry up!", I said as I sat on Drew's bike.

All of us quickly got on the bikes and headed towards school.

Best birthday ever.

Drew and I walked in together followed by Jess and Ethan. I pulled out the tickets from my bag and handed it at the entry.

"Vote for the prom king and queen. Write their names behind your tickets.", Ann said as she checked Ethan and Drew out.

I looked around and wrote down the name of the cutest couple I saw.
I scribbled 'Jessica and Ethan' behind the ticket and handed it to Ann.

I hesitated a moment.
Should I go? I mean, I've never been to a school dance before.

For a split second, I thought of racing back home. I could hear music playing loudly inside the hall. I could hear people laughing and dancing.

"It's ok. Come on.", Drew said as he gave my hand a gentle squeeze.

I sucked in a deep breath before I stepped inside the hall.

Several jaws dropped and eyes widened as I made my way through the crowd.

Many of the guys whistled and I glared at them. The girls looked at me with distaste and practically swooned over Drew.

Jess and Ethan followed us, receiving a few more whistles, glares and swoons.

The music played loudly and I could feel the ground beneath us vibrate. All the lights were switched off and purple and pink LEDs hung on the wall. The DJ sat in the middle of the hall with his speakers around him. The stage was right behind the apparatus.

Snacks and drinks were provided in the far end of the room.

Several bodies moved to the rhythm of the beat. There was barely any space to stand on the dancefloor.

"Let's eat something.", Jess suggested.

This girl is never going to change.

"I'll go get some drinks.", Ethan said.
Drew went with him.

"Nice place.", I said.
"WHAT?", Jess yelled over the music.
"NICE PLACE.", I yelled.
"YEAH! YOU WANNA DANCE UNTIL THEY COME BACK?", Jess yelled back.

I nodded and headed to the dancefloor. We somehow found some space and started pairing up our bodies with the beat of the song.
We saw Ethan and Drew look for us in the hall. I quickly pulled Jess along with me and went to them.

They handed us our drinks and we quickly gulped them down. I looked around the room. Sweaty bodies danced on the floor, couples were making out in dark corners of the room, the food was being replaced as fast as it was being consumed and the usual.

I looked at the dancefloor to see Ashley, Samantha and Julia on the dancefloor their respective boyfriends Max, Alex and Jordan.

They wore beautiful dresses and suits and I was sure it was going to be one of those three couples that would win the title of Prom king and queen.
