"Wait what?!", I yelled.

Drew covered his ears.
"I'm not participating in any goddamn marathon!", I yelled again, just to irritate him.

"Will you stop shouting for God's sake?!", he asked.

I shook my head.
He rolled his eyes.
"Well then, if you are too afraid to accept the challenge I guess I'll ju-", Drew started.

"I'm not afraid of anything, Fisher!", I yelled yet again.

At this point, he had given up. He took his hands off his ears. He had that stupid smirk on his face anyway.

I rolled my eyes.
"Look I'm not afraid of anything or anyone. I don't wanna participate in some stupid marathon to fulfill some dumb challenge of yours.", I scoffed.
"Chicken.", Drew muttered.

I inhaled dramatically, putting a hand over my heart.
"You take that back!", I said.

He grinned.
"Nope. Chicken chicken chicken!!", he sang the last part.

I couldn't help laughing. I tried to slap him but it only turned out to be a brush of my hand against his cheek.

"Ok fine. I'll participate.", I sighed defeatedly.

He flashed me a thumbs up before Martha called him.
He headed out and I stood there, worrying about a marathon which had almost a month to go.

I groaned when I saw the lights on in my house. Dad was definitely roaming in the house, probably with a baseball bat this time.

Time for some thief work, Dina.

I was sick of this nonsense.

I quietly crept into the house. Dad was not in the corridor. I quietly snuck to the top floor. Relief washed over me when I didn't see my dad anywhere.

I quickly went into my room and locked the door behind me.

Just then, my phone buzzed.
I checked it. It was a message from an anonymous number.

I'll pick you up at 5 in the morning. Be ready.

I frowned.

Who is this?

After a while, my phone buzzed again.

Micheal Jackson. Who do you think it is? We'll start by going for a jog tomorrow morning. Wake up soon, kiddo.

"Oh.", I said when the realization hit me.

I rolled my eyes.

How'd you get my number?, I typed.

I entered my phone in your number and sent a missed call to myself when you were smoking outside:-P

Ok srsly? Creep.

Yh yh I love you too. Now go sleep, kiddo. You have to wake up early tomorrow.

I checked my phone and sure enough, I saw a missed call go from my number to the unknown number.

I saved the number as 'Drew the idiot'.

I smiled triumphantly and tossed my phone aside.

After I freshened up, I slumped onto my bed and soon enough, I started snoring.

Drew's P.O.V

I jogged to Dina's house. It was really cold and I had to rub my hands together to keep myself warm.

It was only five in the morning. The street lights were on, which acted as the only source of light.

After a while, I reached Dina's house.
No lights were on. I huffed and rang the bell.
