Start of School

I hate the first day of school, but it came anyways. My room door opened but I lay in my bed anyway, wanting summer to start over again. The blanket draped over my head was ripped off before jumping for the kill, "HOOOOOONK." I fell off the bed and caught my brother's ankle just as he turned to run. "Your dead," I said with my eyes wide and popping out of my head. "MOM HELP!!" as my 5th pound hit his face my dad and mom came through the door pulling us apart. "Alright stop this and get dressed y'all know y'all have school today," my dad said as they let us both go. "Okay," I said walking quietly away but eying everyone from the corner of my eye as I waited for mom and dad, and my brother leaves last I quickly grabbed my shoe, threw it at his head and ran to lock door the door just before my parents came running in.

~Time skip~

The start of the new school year. After getting dressed and packing my supplies into my backpack, I decided that jumping out of the window was the safest option for me. I ran to the bus stop looking behind me multiple time to make sure no one saw me. "What's your name?" A guy said unexpectedly. "Gabriel," I said in a hurry to get to the bus stop. "Mines Antonio and your my new best friend," he wrapped his sweaty right arm around me. A horrid stench hit my nostrils, luckily the bus came. I ran on and introduced myself to the bus driver then took my seat on the left. Unfortunately Antonio sat next me for the whole ride, going on about teachers Id hates and popular kids I should stay away from. As soon as I got of the bus, WE went to lunch, " let's sit here," Antonio said pointing at couple of seats in the corner.

"Oooooohhhhh, get you some Tony I see you with your lady," A really cute tall guy with curly shiny curls, pearly white teeth, and ebony skin walked up to us and sat in front of Antonio. "Very funny Neil but she's just a friend and what happened about yesterday you were supposed to come watch the game," Antonio said. Rolling his eyes Neil said, "Bruhh my mama crazy, alright so early yesterday morning bout 7 she busting the door open talking bout 'boy come clean my car didn't I tell you this yesterday and you still playin' so I stayed laying down right and she's just screaming and my dad runs in the room with a belt."

As soon as I started to laugh Neil looked up at me and flashing his perfect teeth. Seven seconds later my smile vanished when a dark skinned model walked up to us. Turns out that was his girlfriend. The bell rang and Antonio walked me to OUR class. Mrs.O'Brien introduced herself to the class. The group of girls behind me started to whisper, "Anybody new this year cause I'm bout to get me a homecoming date boo." "Guh no, the same as last year, buck weed in the back, cheese teeth Chuck in the front, middle age Michael by the teacher, funky Tony to the left, and late Larry...." I shut them out and looked around the room and looked in the back of the class and saw a red eyes and buck teeth sitting in the back, I suddenly remembered the strong smell of weed when I stood by him while Mrs.O'Brien showed us our assigned seats. Curious about the other guys they talked about I decided to keep looking, sure enough in the middle sat a guy wearing a foot long beard who I suspect was Michael. A boy with curly red hair eating string cheese in the front. I looked to the left and saw Antonio swatting away a fly and instantly knew he was funky Tony, but who was....

The door burst open and in came a wide eyed boy with binocular sized glasses sitting on his face, he ran to the teacher giving her his tardy sheet. I listen again to what the girls were saying,"....not every girl thinks what we think about theses guys shoot Tony walked in here at the beginning of class with the new girl." They we're talking about me. "Mmmm she wrong that, that boy is so dirty, somebody needs to see about this." OH NO! My fear became a reality. I knew I shouldn't have hung out with him, suddenly one of them tapped me on my arm, " Excuse me," I turned to eight curious eyes. The one who tapped me said, "Hey you dating that boy over there." They pointed at Antonio who started digging his fingers deep up his nose. I looked panicked when the girls eyes started to narrow after see my expression, I said, "No I'm not dating him, he was just showing me to class." They started at me blankly, I decided that wasn't enough to convince them. Then I blurted out, "Besides he seems a little dirty." Her eyes turned into a smile and her and her friends burst out into laughter.

My classes flew quicker than I expected, before I knew it was lunch time. I walked into the cafeteria full of chattering teens, I looked around for a seat and saw Antonio waving at me from the distance. Singling me to take a seat next to him, Neil and Neil' girlfriend. As I turned to walk their way I saw the girls from my first hour watching me to see what I'd do. Putting my head down I walked to an empty row of seats trying not to look at a confused Antonio.

On the bus I saw Antonio stare to see if I'd take the seat by him, feeling bad for what I said in first hour and how I acted at lunch I made my way towards his seat quickly. Changing my mind when I saw one of the girls from my first hour look my way. I passed me up and decided to take a seat at the very back of the bus. I avoid making eye contact with him as the bus drove us home and wished he try a little harder to do the same. When I got off I walked straight home without sharing a glance at Antonio. And forcing myself not to look back at the bus as it drove away.
