Goku dragged the elk back to the house, refusing to let himself grumble. For two days straight, Vegeta had been sending him on errands. Hm, sound familiar? But he felt that Vegeta had the right to boss him around for some reason. He was a Prince, after all. He almost forgot to skin it before taking it inside; last time, Vegeta had thrown a fit at his "uncouth savageness". So he carefully removed the elk's brown hide and slipped inside, taking it to the kitchen. "Vegeta?" he called. "I've got another one."
"Good," Vegeta said as he trotted down the stairs. "That's all I'll need for now, unless you'd like to go get another?"
Vegeta had strange ways to make demands. Goku sighed internally but smiled. "Sure, I'll see what I can find."
"Thanks." Vegeta took the elk and managed to get it up on the counter without making a mess. He noted a pool of blood on the floor and muttered something about a mop. He ignored it temporarily, however, and began to cut up the meat for storage. Goku returned to the woods.
Instead of hunting, however, he just sat on a rock and thought. He knew he deserved it, but he hated how much distance Vegeta was putting between them since that night. It wasn't his fault. He'd have to find a way to bring them close again. An idea popped into his head and he grinned. It'd be a long shot, but he could only benefit from trying. Goku hopped up and went to find another animal before heading back.
Vegeta tossed the carefully packaged meat into the huge freezer that sat basically in the floor. He sat down against the wall with a sigh. His heart ached. Pushing Goku away was the hardest thing he'd ever done. You're just setting yourself up for heartbreak, he thought. Every time you lock someone out, you hurt yourself more than if you'd let them in. Go right ahead. Clam up. Lose him too. He groaned and buried his face in his hands. "Why me? Again? It might have been anyone else. But no. The Universe decides to fuck up Vegeta's life one more time!" Vegeta banged the back of his head against the wall. He sighed again. "I'll talk to him tonight. I've got to open up. I'm not missing the opportunity again."
Goku walked into the house at that moment and saw Vegeta sitting on the floor. With a yelp, he dropped what he was holding and rushed over to Vegeta. "Vegeta! Are you ok!?" He dropped beside Vegeta.
The other jumped at Goku's sudden presence at his side. "Kakarrot! Y- I'm fine, what the hell is wrong?"
Goku relaxed and hesitantly rested his head on Vegeta's shoulder. "I... I saw you on the floor and I thought..." He laughed nervously, pulling away. "I... haha, it's dumb. I thought maybe you'd fallen or gotten hurt somehow."
Vegeta's heart melted. Not entirely in control of himself for a moment, he turned Goku's head to face him and leaned in a bit. Then he hesitated with a jolt. It was a completely natural movement, as if it had been done a million times before. Eh, he'd already gone this far, why not a bit further. He inhaled nervously and pulled Goku closer, only to be... denied. Goku turned his face away, deflecting the kiss to Goku's cheek. "Vegeta, I can't," he whispered, trembling. "I... I'll lose control again; don't ya remember last time?"
Vegeta somehow had a feeling that this would not be the case. "You didn't the first time," he whispered. "And you won't now. Trust me, please. I... Kakarrot, I want this." He made Goku look at him and tried again. This time Goku accepted the kiss. Vegeta's head felt like it was reeling and he briefly worried that he might lose control today. Goku's mouth was so gentle and slow against his own; the feeling was intoxicating. He couldn't slow his breathing. He was getting too excited, and Goku could tell. The younger Saiyan began to pull away, but Vegeta's hands, buried in his hair, suddenly tightened their grip. "Kaka..." he moaned softly against Goku's lips.
Goku shuddered, knowing they had to get away from each other. "Baby, not now; I don't want ya doing something you'll regret, ok? Calm down, Vegeta, it's ok."
