Thought this song goes nicely, or maybe I just like this song.

After what had occurred at the barn, I went back to the house and grabbed some old clothes that required washing. I needed something to get my mind off of what was going on.

I had previously put the articles of clothing in my bag and started to make my trip to the lake. This is where some of us resorted to washing our clothes.

Some of us felt it wasn't proper or appropriate for us to use their washers. Not to mention the lake was lovely and near the farm.

Once I eventually got to the lake I examined the area and saw some lily pads scattered around.

The aroma here was amazing. Picture putting together some of the finest flower sents and bottling them to be then sold later on.

Taking a deep breath in and shutting my eyes I could hear birds chattering to their young. Bugs moving across the water.

It was these types of days I loved the most as a child. Soaking up the rays of sunlight, being able to unwind after a bad day. This was absolute bliss.

Recollections of when my father attempted to attack me came flooding in. This peaceful moment was soon to be destroyed by intrusive thoughts.

It was often that I would hide my little brother from all of the fighting and conflict.

My mother use to take me to this lake when I was younger to get away.

Although it was a very unattractive lake it provided a lot of relaxation.

Sometimes we would pick flowers and make each other crowns. Of course, mine was always disheveled while my small hands attempted fine motor skills. But her crows were always delicate and well put together.

My father condemned me from going there when she passed away. Said 'there's no point'. This never stopped me though.

What husband/father wouldn't allow their child to go to one of the places their mother found peace?

Once again dismissing my head of those thoughts, I started to take my clothes out of the bag.

Some body wash was all I brought with so hopefully this would be enough. I doubt anyone would care.

Crack.

Turning around a walker was making its way out of the woods. Quickly taking my knife out of the holster I slowly made my way towards it.

Once I got close enough my knife sailed through the air before finding its way between the rotting corpse's eyes.

The body fell to the mud nearly in slow motion.

Another cracking sound alerted me to my left. This time it wasn't a walker but a canine.

Before anything else happened it started to bark causing its existence to be known.

"Shhh!" I looked towards the dog my shushing being harsh yet soothing.

This dog could attract more walkers. But sadly my attempts proved to not work.

A walker had been slowly making its way behind the dog. It ended up taking a chunk of the dog's thigh due to being out of sight while crawling.

Before more damage could be done I threw the knife at the walker's head successfully killing it.

Quickly making my way to the dog I took the knife out of the walker's skull.

There wasn't much I could do for this poor dog. I feel incredibly bad for the creature. Animals are one of the most innocent things in this world yet many of them have their lives cut short. I had to put him out of his discomfort.
