Shanawa May Kabaduyan (Part 1)

"Hey..."

Edward called out softly to Maymay. Kakatapos lng ng rehearsals for the Imus concert the next day. Earlier that afternoon kasama sila sa media launch ng latest movie project nilang DOTGA: Da One That Ghost Away and they are now in the car on the way home.

As usual magkatabi ang MayWard. But not like usual, medyo tahimik si Maymay.

For those who do not know her that well, they would just dismiss her silence as being pagod.

But Edward knows better. Aside from feeling tired, Maymay was thinking about something, and Edward has a feeling somehow it involved him and them.

Edward knows from experience that it's best not to discuss problems when they're tired or not in the best moods. But they also do not let the sun set and then rise again on their problems. So he let Maymay get a much-needed rest beside him. He also felt that she wanted to be alone with her thoughts for now, so he let her have her space - as much space he and the cramped car can offer her right now.

He settled quietly in his seat when she didn't answer. He tried to recall the events of the day, hoping to find a clue to Maymay's mood. She wasn't angry; she seemed a bit sad.

Edward closed his eyes and letmhis thought wander.

"Tita, good night po. Brad!"

Nagbeso si Maymay ky Tita Cathy at tumango naman kay Edward habang pabukas na yung elevator sa floor nila ni Pat. Hindi na siya nagpahatid ky Edward like he usually does. Pagod na yun eh, need niya nang magpahinga para sa concert.

Need ko rin pagpahingahin ang utak ko sa kakaisip.

"Day pasok lng ako sandali ah. Di na ako kakain pero patimpla na lng ako nung gatas, please. Salamat."

Mabigat ang mga paa na pumasok si Maymay sa kwarto. Pagkatapos maitabi yung mga gamit, pumasok na siya sa banyo para mag-prepare maghilamos at magpalit na para matulog.

Nasa harap siya ng salamin at ingat na tinanggal ang makeup sa mukha. Dati hindi niya masyadon pinapansin ang mga ganitong gawain sa mukha kaya lang iba na kasi ngayong naging artista na siya. Siguro dahil palaging puyat at laging may make-up, medyo naging sensitive yung balat niya. Nung one time na hindi niya ginalingan ang pagtanggal ng make-up, niresbakan siya nito ng iilang pimples sa noo at ilong.

Mas malaki pa yata yung pimple kysa dun sa ilong ko, biro ni Maymay, na ang pinakapuna sa sarili ay ang pangong ilong at maliit na boobs.

Ewan ko ba anong nakita ni Edward sa akin...

At the thought of Edward, biglang kumirot ang puso ni Maymay at may posong biglang nagbukas sa loob niya at dumaloy na lng kusa yung tubig palabas.

Naihi siya.

Joke lang!

Biglang bumulusok ang luha niya na siyang dahilan ng pag-run ng mascara bago pa man niya ito natanggal.

Maymay tried to remove her makeup as fast yet as gentle as possible. Pero di niya ito magawa nang tuloy-tuloy kasi naninikip talaga ang dibdib niya kaya hinayaan niya na lng muna ang sarili na ilabas ang lahat.

Humagulgol siya.

Maymay's petite body was shaking at pakiramdam niya literal na sasabog na ito into many pieces. Iyak na may sounds pa talaga, cries that echoed through the walls of their unit.

Maymay got so lost in her thoughts and emotions kaya di na niya narinig yung dahan-dahang pagsara ng pinto ng kanyang kwarto at ang pag-click ng lock nito...
