we get back to james apartment and i'm exhausted.

i take off my heels and plop on the couch, "ugh i still have to drive home." i groan, sitting back up and grabbing my shoes from the floor.

i stand seeing james walk over for a hug, i wrap my arms around him in a hug. "let me know when we want to hang out again." i say, pulling away.

ian walks over too, i gladly give him a hug, taking him by surprise.

his arms wraparound me low. i close my eyes, smelling his sent.

"when do you leave?" i ask, looking up at him.

"friday." he says, pulling me closer.

"let's do something by then, just you and me." i whisper so he could only hear, earning a slight flush from him.

"okay." he smiles, then releases me from the hug.

i get in my car, thank god i drove here instead of walk.

i turn the key to get it started, hearing the engine come to life, i pull out from my parking spot.

-

i feel my car start to get bumpy along the short drive.

because it was so suspicious, i pull over immediately to take a look at what was up.

once i'm on the side of the road, i get out of my car scanning the front first.

i walk around the sides, realizing that my back right tire has gone flat.

"no, no..." i mentally slap myself for taking out my extra tire for a mail shipment and not putting it back in.

i crouch down to take a closer look, i take out my phone as a flashlight to see the damage.

just my luck, there's a nail in the tire, i pull it out carefully. the rest of the air releases from the tire quickly.

i look at my phone and see the time of 1:30am, would anyone be up by now to answer my call?

at first i call my aunt, no answer.

then i call patrick since he's near by, no answer.

i then call james, no answer.

i get to my last idea of who to call and he finally answers.

"ian? i have a flat tire. anyway you could wake james and come get me?" i kick the tire lightly, hoping it would spring to life.

"sure, i'll get james. where are you at?" he asks.

i hear rustling in the background, "by the starbucks just down the road." i bite my lip nervously.

"we will be there soon. bye." he says, waiting for my reply.

"bye." i take my phone from my ear and press the red button.

i lean against my car and sigh. of course this has to happen.

-

a few minutes later a car pulls up, headlights blinding me.

the car eventually stops and the lights turn off. spots start to cloud my vision from the lights.

ian and james both step out of the car, the height difference evident in the street light.

"so you've got a flat tire huh." ian leans on the car next to me.

"yeah, i don't have a spare so we might have to get my car towed." i would need a ride back to my apartment but i don't want to just ask.

"why don't you call a tow service in the morning, and stay with us?" james asks, obviously having a plan on his mind.

"i don't have any clothes, i only have my clothes from earlier." i tuck my hair behind my ear.

"i'm sure ian will let you borrow something, right ian?" james nudges his shoulder.

"uh, sure." ian fiddles with his fingers like the awkward teen he is.

"so it's settled. come on." james leads us to his car.

i quickly look at ian, he gives me a shrug before following james to the car.
