Well, I've been at this school for a good four hours and I've come to learn that almost every high school student curses. I have no problem with cursing, but I don't think it's really needed in the human dictionary. It's full of disappointment and rudeness, no one needs that.
I'm at lunch, waiting for Elwin in the library. Catherine, our mother, made us lunch so we wouldn't have to go to the cafeteria. I didn't really feel like eating in the cafeteria so I decided to eat in the library, there's only a couple of students.
The library is actually pretty big, shelves of books are everywhere, making me smile at all the books you can get in a blink of an eye. Desks of computers are lined up in the middle of the building, and towards the front and the end of the building. Large windows sitting on the wall, giving me a huge view of the mountains.
Arizona isn't that bad, it's crazily hot and windy, but I can deal with it. It won't compare with Utah. Utah is a beautiful place, I would always go out to the lake, park, or library to get some alone time. I don't have many friends. In total, I have five friends. They're all in Utah. Actually, Justice is going to move here so she can still spend time with me.
My parents and I were told a month before moving that we were moving, they usually just tell us to pack up and move. This time, they actually had it planned out and organized. They got us a house, with all the furniture. They got our paper work for school and enrolled us in Fairfax. Got the tickets for the flight, gave us a car. Everything worked out smoothly. Justice asked her Mother if she can move with us, she said not right now but later on she can. So, Justice will be here within a month.
As I wait here waiting for Elwin, I hear screams from in front of me. I look up to see a couple playing around. The boys hand reaches over and grabs the girls paperwork, making her scowl at him and reach over. He backs up and has a dimpled smile on his face. Like the girl can read his mind, he stands up and dashes off, making her follow him and laugh.
"Athena?" Elwin says while shaking my leg.
"Sorry." I say while focusing my attention to him.
He puts his arms up and gestures to the stool, "I need help up." He says while smiling, making me laugh and put him on the chair.
He sets his bag on the desk and takes his lunch out, "How was your day?" He asks me while opening his lunch box, taking out some carrots.
"It was ok." I say while shrugging, plugging my charger into the outlet and plug the end of it into my phone.
Elwin looks at the plug that is engraved into the desk, "Convenient." He says while pointing to it.
"Suppose so." I mumble, "How was your day?" I ask Elwin, making him smile.
"It was great, everyone loves me in the classes, they said they found it weird that a little kid is in highschool." He says while poking his straw into his juice box.
"Are you sure they weren't making fun of you?" I ask him.
He looks at me while taking a drink of his juice box, "No Athena. There was this one kid who was actually making fun of me me, the others got mad at him and told him not to be rude, that's who was making fun of me." He says before gulping down his drink.
"Someone was bullying you?" I ask him.
"Making fun of, not bullying, totally different scenario" he says while tipping his lunch box upside down, all the food spilling out on the desk.
He puts his juice box to the side, putting his peanut butter and jelly sandwich in the middle of the desk. He puts his Frito's on the back left side of his sandwich, tilting it to the left. His carrots to the back right of his sandwich, tilting it to the right. He puts his Hershey's bar right of his sandwich, right below his carrots, flipping it upside down so he can read the label of the Hershey's bar. He hops off the stool and looks at it from the middle of the desk, making sure everything is in the right place and not crooked.
He climbs on the stool, struggling and trying not to fall. He finally gets on and looks at me, "Your turn." He says while gesturing to my food.
I open my bag and pour out the food. I place my peanut butter and jelly sandwich in the far left corner of the desk. Taking my sliced Apple's and place them left of my sandwich. I take my Capri Sun and place it behind my sandwich. Taking my M&M's and placing it along side of the right side of my sandwich. Taking the note that Catherine left us and place it in front of everything. I get off the stool and crouch down to see if everything is aligned correctly.
"Right to left or left to right?" Elwin asks while I get back on the stool.
We look at each other and smile, "Right to left." We say in unison, starting off with the candy.
I get the note that Catherine left us and read her beautifully well written handwriting,
Athena, I hope you're having a splendid day at school. Enjoy the lunch. Xx.
Ask Elwin what the square root of 4456 is, the answer is 66.753I turn my body towards Elwin and he looks at me.
"Catherine wants to know if you know what the square root of 4456 is." I say, making him close his eyes and think.
"66.75?" He says while looking up at the ceiling.
"Technically, yes, but we were shooting towards the third decimal point." I say.
He smacks his hand to his forehead and groans, "66.753." he says.
"Correct." I say while handing him the paper so he can read his note on the other side.
His eyes roam the paper and then smiles, clearing his throat and sits up straight, "Catherine wants to know if you know the first species of whales and how they looked like." He asks.
I close my eyes and look through my brain, finding all the things I learned from when I was a baby. I try to remember what it was called, "Ten seconds." Elwin says.
"Pakicetus." I say while stopping at a article that I read in seventh grade, remembering how they looked, "They don't look like what the whales look like now. The Pakicetus species had the body of a land animal, but it's head had a long skull shape that is similar to the whales now. It was a land animal, which ment they had legs. It sort of looked like a mutated dinosaur, a pretty and unique type of way. A DNA mutation happened and the offsprings ended up having no legs, hence the whales now." I explain to him.
Elwin looks back at me and the paper and then frowns, "She didn't leave a answer so let's just assume it's right, you sounded all nerdy so I think it's accurate." He says, making me nudge his shoulder.
I unlock my phone and search up the first whale. Articles pop up about the Pakicetus, giving it a visual definition and picture of it. I hand my phone to Elwin and he reads the article.
His eyes scan up and down the device before handing it back to me, "You were right." He says while finishing up his Hershey's bar.
"Don't move on! I'm not done with mine yet." I say while stuffing a lot of M&M's into my mouth, making Elwin laugh and stuff some in his.
This was a good first day of school.

Hi, I hope you guys liked this chapter. I'm sort of switching lanes on my books. I like it, different genres. If you guys didnt notice, both Elwin and Athena have OCD. Athena has a eidetic memory, along with a flashbulb memory. Elwin is extremely smart and remembers everything he learned. If you guys like this book, be sure to read my others. I update daily.
