"Justin get me ice-cream!" I hear Taylor yell from across the way. "I want ice-cream!"
Sighing I get up and walk into her room. She's sitting on the window couch with her guitar in hand.
Once I enter she looks at me. I sit next to her and she still doesn't say anything to me.
"Play me something and I'll get you ice-cream." I gesture to her guitar.
She's never played something directly to me but I've heard her from the hall a couple of times. Nodding she puts the guitar in place.
She takes a deep breath and starts while staring at me...
"When the days are cold
And the cards all fold
And the saints we see
Are all made of gold..."
Every once in a while she would look down at the guitar.
"When your dreams all fail
And the ones we hail
Are the worst of all
And the blood's run stale
I wanna hide the truth
I wanna shelter you
But with the beast inside
There's nowhere we can hide"
She then starts to form a smile as she continues, switching songs.
"There was a time
I used to look into my mother's eyes.
In a happy home
I was a queen, I had a golden throne.
Those days are gone,
Now the memory's on the wall.
I hear the songs
From the places where I was born...
Upon a hill across a blue lake,
That's where I had my first heartbreak.
I still remember how it all changed...
My mother said,
"Don't you worry, don't you worry, child.
See heaven's got a plan for you.
Don't you worry, don't you worry now."
Yeah!..."
She continues the song as a smile stays on her face but she's looking out of the window as she smiles and sings. Once she finishes she stares out of the window.
"What are you thinking about?" I ask her.
"My mum and d-." she whispers and a single tear slips out of her eye.
"What happened to you? Why are you like how you are?" I ask letting the half word go.
"I'm not ready to tell that story but my mum is dead." She says and sets her guitar down. She wipes her teary eyes and then looks up at me.
"Okay." I say and she nods.
"Now how 'bout that ice cream."

"Double scoop cheesecake in a tub." Taylor tells the lady behind the counter. The girl continues to stare at me.
"And what would you like, sir?" she licks her teeth 'seductively'.
