The day had finally come. Jason's first day of his internship. He woke up to the scent of his favorite breakfast: pancakes and bacon. His mom had prepared it to give him plenty of energy for today. His dad told him that he would come home early from work to congratulate him when he got back. Jason's dad was an architect. Jason's mom was currently in between jobs. Jason could hardly wait to get the Helper Bots Inc. facility. He had gone on a tour and took pictures in his head of the scenery. Mike had his license, so he would come pick him up and they would go to the facility together. About an hour after breakfast, Jason heard the honk of Mike's car. Jason's mom kissed him on the cheek, and then Jason was out the door.
When they finally arrived, a worker was standing outside the main entrance. He told them where to go for intern orientation. It was in a huge auditorium. Jason suddenly noticed his other best friend Pete, who sometimes joined him and Mike when they hung out. Jason and Mike took their seats next to Pete. "Pete, you got in too?" Jason whispered to Pete. "Yeah, they let in more people than you think!" Pete whispered back. They all saw a man on the stage, with a huge screen behind him.
"Welcome, interns!" the man said cheerfully. "All of us at Helper Bots Inc. are glad to have you all here for your summer internship! You're all wondering who I am, right?" Then someone in the crowd said, "Yes." "I am Steve, I do orientations to new workers just like the one you're in now."
The presentation was very long. Mike almost fell asleep a few times. Pete did fall asleep a few times. Jason, however, was wide awake the whole time, taking notes. He took note that the hours the interns work are 8:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. He also wrote down the emergency protocols. Jason was very smart and took lots of notes. Mike and Pete weren't as smart and didn't take as many notes.
"Now, since this presentation was long, you will all start working tomorrow. Get plenty of rest everyone!" Steve exclaimed. Jason was a little upset about this, but didn't say anything.
