Lucas and Liam were seated either side of me.
The room was thick with tension and I picked at my brain for a good conversation starter.
Liam beat me to it.
"So, Lucas...how long have you known supermarket girl?" he asked, displaying discomfort in the lines that creased his forehead.
"My whole life practically. Her name is Kenya." he said bluntly putting a tight arm around my shoulders.
I quickly removed them, Lucas hadn't denied Liam's assumption that we were together and I honestly didn't want to look any worse than I did.
Lucas scoffed. "She won't allow me to put her arm around me, what's going on here Liam?" he asked giving Liam a death stare.
"Maybe she is confused by the amount of possessive male figures in her life right now. First the God damned director now the best friend." Liam sniggered.
This is going more than horribly wrong I had to do something before a fist fight began.
I coughed and both boys looked at me concerned.
"She would like to be given the opportunity to speak." I said quietly, looking down at the floor.
"Of course." they said in unison.
"I like you both. Lucas more deeply because of our history. We have been friends for years and you have remained loyal and trustworthy. You have never let me down and won't anytime soon. I trust you with my heart and my life. There's never a single day when I doubt the bond we have in our friendship. Liam, we met yesterday. Yesterday. I can't believe how close we are already. I feel like we have met before or something- from the first time we met I was curious because of the positive energy you radiate. The authenticity in your smile and the genuine care and want you had to be my friend. I want you to be in my life, as Lucas is. Both of you are my friends. You don't have to like each other but I know I won't be happy knowing that the two most important people in my life can't even suffice a few minutes in the same room without a stupid masculinity war." I said.
Four angry eyes pierced my body with... was it respect? admiration? What is going on?!
"We agree. I am sorry as I am sure Mr Lucas is. I admire your strength in vocally communicating this problem of ours. You see as men sometimes we can be a little-" he said.
"Posessive... territorial. That's no excuse. You are a woman who should be left to express herself, use her freedom and" he gulped, "see whoever you want to see." Lucas spoke cutting into Liam ashamed.
"What has seeing people got to do with this?" I asked curious.
"Hmmmm..." Lucas said aimlessly.
"Well?" I asked anxious about what was going on between the two of them.
A knock at the door sounded, I knew exactly who it was.
"Boys, please leave we shall continue this conversation in a public place. It's rather late." I whispered going to the door.
Indeed the man who had just "fixed" my fire alarm stood staring at me with daring eyes. He looked behind my body to the two boys and a smirk danced in the corner of his lips but he pressed them tightly in denial.
"I want you." The director said bluntly.
"Want me?... for what? Do I have a dancing opportunity coming up? Do you need costume ideas I have sketched out a few male dancers costumes that you can see." I said excited.
"No we want you. We... we lust over you every single day." Lucas shouted over from the bedroom.
"Its true. I can't seem to withdraw myself from you. Every moment in your presence is a fight to stop myself from pinning you down and relieving the stress from my member. Its so wrong Kenya, this is what I'm certain of... especially for you and I know this. But tell me Kenya how can something so wrong feel so good?" he asked eyes willing me to agree.
Lucas' eyes also pleaded with me and I felt warmth rise to my cheeks. They both want me? His member? Oh God, what have I landed myself into.
I looked over to Liam and Lucas. Lucas had a look of urgency and want on his face. Liam had a look of worry and a tinge of discomfort.
"Liam shall we take a walk? Ignore these men... they are simply winding me up, that's all." I said to him beckoning him over with my hand.
"WHAT YOU ARE LEAVING WITH HIM?!" the men said in unison.
"A woman should be left to express herself, use her freedom and... see whoever she wants. Lucas you said that earlier right. Well here's my expression- GET THE FUCK OUT BECAUSE I AM LEAVING NOW!" I said with assertiveness and boldness.
The men gave a confused look, Lucas hurt also but I remained strong. "GET OUTTTTT!" I repeated and they obeyed leaving swiftly.
"Let's go. I'll take you to your room I am sorry about this mess you didn't deserve to be a witness to all this." I closed the door to my room.
Liam simply followed quietly and slowly.
"Don't worry about me. Don't take their words seriously it's all just a way of annoying me, a practical joke." I said aimlessly.
We arrived at his room and he opened his door and shut it softly. I took a deep sigh. I was in deep crap.
Liam's door opened up again. Liam stood at the door with a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine and a deep smile. How could I resist?
Hours had passed and I couldn't remember how many chocolate pieces I had consumed- too many that's it. Liam and I were seated on his bedroom floor cross-legged and giggling about the amount of Disney songs Liam could re-call. Never had I ever met a guy who knew more than me.
"I want to be a real boy father." Liam said re-calling a quote from Pinocchio in a high-pitched voice and popping a piece of chocolate into his mouth.
"I bet you do you." I answered playfully.
"Hey I am a real boy aren't I?" he said faking a frown which I knew was hard for someone like Liam to achieve.
"Your nose is getting bigger Liam!" I said faking shock.
Liam painted a look of disbelief on his face before clasping his nose with his hands and running in circles around the room shouting "I want to be a real boy father" and probably due to the wine landed flat on his bed with a thud.
"Pinocchio, it seems your legs and arms are changing... they are no longer wooden my boy! Stand up and rejoice with me, its a miracle." I cried out laughing hysterically.
