First Year

The dishes disappear as soon as we're done and people start to clear out the door. I catch up to James who is already on his way out the door, but I abruptly run into his back. Since he's a couple inches taller than me I need to go around him to see what's going on. Everyone's parted around that creep Severus and that boy Remus, who seem to be fighting. I move closer to get a closer look. That's when I hear Snape say;

"Don't even try with Lily, she doesn't like you," he spat.

"Don't say that. You have no right to," Remus replied sternly.

"No really, she doesn't want to be your friend, I doubt anyone does," Severus continued.

That's when I saw something change in him. He let out a low growl and swung his fist at Severus.

"I said don't," he added coldly, and stalked off.

I found myself staring, taking in his features, without really knowing why.  I was pulled out of my trance when James tapped my shoulder.

"I think we found ourselves a trio!" he whisper-shouts in my ear, "This guy is -"

"Badass," I nod, staring at the guy who is starting to walk towards us and up to the dorms. The guy brushes past us and starts following the other First Years and the prefect to our Common Room.

When we get to the common room, there's a prefect.

"Lukánthrōpos is the password!" he shouts over the crowd.

I approach the painting with a large lady on it and she asks in her high pitched voice, "Password please?"

"Lukánthrōpos," the other prefect, Jenna, says and the door opens wide, "Okay everyone, come in!"

I see Remus flinch when Jenna says the password.

We walk in through the door to see a large room filled with Gryffindor's and party food. I snatch a bag of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans and head up to my assigned room with James. Luckily, we were put in the same room, he's the only person I know here. But I was more surprised when I saw a small boy sleeping, and Remus reading on one of the beds.

I open the packet and take one, turning my attention to Remus.

"Hey! I saw you talking to Severus, he's a douche. Don't worry about him. You, I mean, ah, you wanna be friends?" I ask hopefully.

"O-ok," he says timidly.

"Great!" I say slinging my arm around his shoulder, smiling like a maniac, "Want a bean?"

Later that night, we were lying in our beds. The house elves had unpacked our things already so we didn't need to. We decided to have an early night before class starts tomorrow.

I find myself looking at Remus again, wondering what was going on inside his head. Is it normal to be thinking like this? Whenever I try to think of anything apart from him, my thoughts lead me back.

His caramel hair, button nose, scars striking down his perfect face.

Shit.

I have a crush on Remus Lupin.
