First Year
The past year at Hogwarts has been interesting with Sirius and James getting up to mischief and Remus reading and looking on at them trying to hide his smile and shaking his head occasionally at their constant efforts. Then there's me; trying to stop them, but eventually giving up and joining in.
We've grown closer over these past months and when we're apart it just doesn't feel right. We've called ourselves the Marauders. James has been trying in vain to get everyone to call us that. I don't think it's working... But anyway, it's the thought that counts.
Currently we're all under James' invisibility cloak, making our way to the kitchen. Remus made a plan to put Veritaserum in the Slytherin's pumpkin juice for breakfast tomorrow. Then all the Gryffindors are going to interrogate Snivellus and his crew.
Now we're doing the hard part, actually putting the Veritaserum in their juice. We've gathered 1 vial of the truth potion and are making our way down to past the Hufflepuff Common Room and to the kitchens. James' dad was a trickster in his day, and James has told us that we have to tickle the pear in a fruit bowl portrait to get in. We find it soon enough. James does the honours and leads us into the kitchens. House Elves scurry around back and forth, finishing cooking breakfast at top speed. As soon as we enter about five elves come over to us.
"Sirs, good morning, sirs! Is there anything for you wish? We is making breakfasts!" one elf says.
"Oh no. A big thanks though," says Sirius, "We're just here to see all the good work in the room where it happens!"
The elves beam and blush, then hurry off, eager to show their best work.
We casually walk around and up and down the four long tables identical to the ones upstairs. We linger at the Slytherin one on the far right-hand side.
"Okay, Sirius and Remus are going to distract the elves while we to put 3 drops into each pumpkin juice jug!" James whispers to us.
Remus hands James and I a vial filled with veritaserum each, and we head over to the 6 large jugs of pumpkin juice. "Three drops in each," I repeat in my head. I look back to Sirius and Remus trying their best to keep us out of the house elves line on sight.
I laugh to myself as Sirius tries to convince the elves to let them try the pork rolls before breakfast, but James and I are finished so we run back to them before they get any.
"Hey! Guys, look at the time! We should be getting ready!" James spits out hurriedly, winking at Sirius.
"Oh wow! We better get our robes on!" he yells as we run out of the room.
Severus is gonna have a big surprise at breakfast, I think, smirking to myself.

Now we're sitting in the great hall waiting for the food to come, watching Snivellus very closely. The food appears and we start to eat since the potion will take some time to kick in. After some time we decide to start bugging Severus. James briefs Barry Jordan and some others, and we head over to the Slytherin table.
"Oi, Snivellus!" James shouts, Snape cranes his head until he spots James, then turns completely with a sneer across his face.
We've been bugging Snivellus for nearly a year now, let's just say he's not our biggest fan.
After breakfast, we tail Snape while he heads back to the Slytherin common room. We wait until he's alone, which is not long.
"Snivellus!" Sirius yells. Snape turns around and, seeing us, rolls his eyes and keeps walking. "We've got some questions for you." Snape walks faster and Sirius runs so he is beside him. James pins Snape to the wall while Remus puts his head in his hands and groans. Oh no, I think. What if Snape gets hurt? What would happen to us then? Before I can dwell on that any longer, James starts firing away.
