Chapter Seven
View: Tommy
Date: September twentieth
“Where’d you go man?” Connor smiled to Ian as he slid into the booth.
“Talking to someone,” Ian replied as he started grabbing at his own face.
“I think a better question for him is; how high are you?” I asked laughing.
Ian was leaning on the table groaning, and he looked up at me and gave an out of it smile.
“What did you even take?” Connor asked sipping from the milk carton.
“Vicodin,” He answered. “Chase gave them to me, four of them.”
“Four? Why four? Ian you’re small you should only take like two,” Jordan joined into the conversation.
“Look, two doesn’t do shit for me, okay? So why don’t you shut up. You’re a fucking freshman, how would you even know,” Venom dripped from Ian’s words as he looked directly at Jordan.
Jordan shouldn’t have said anything. I guess it was different because Jordan just met Ian over summer, but I figured he’d at least picked up the fact that Ian is very easy to piss off. Ian could be a moody bitch sometimes. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the kid, but he could be a real asshole, especially if he’s going through a mini withdrawal.
I’ve known Ian since sixth grade, when we had the same math skills class together. I remember we use to be the total gamer nerds. Ian had been the perfect description of it too. He had the glasses, with his already lanky appearance. But it’s not like we were socially rejected. We hung around a lot of people, which most of the people we use to hang out with are pretty much the same now. And the people we hung out with all started to experiment with drugs, including Conner, Ian and me. But Ian had been the worst with it, always trying new shit that he doesn’t even know any of the risks for. I guess the simple way of saying it was; I don’t remember the last day Ian had come into school completely sober.
“If you have such a high tolerance to that shit, I could probably look into another kind of pill for you,” Conner said calmly, completely ignoring Ian’s little bitch fit.
“I like the sound of that,” Ian had already gone back to being happy.
His pupils were big though, and I could tell the pills were kicking in. I just hoped he could walk down the hall without walking into everything near him.
“So anyway, who were you talking too?” Conner asked changing the subject. “Was it another girl that you have wrapped around your finger?”
Ian smirked. “No. Vaselia Chamberlin.”
