-Summary-
After 8 years of sitting in a single life from a very nasty and toxic break-up. The lonely single try's to moves on from humans for a more, "technical" rebound.—
I sit in my living room with my life-size box in front of me. The brown IBot box was beaten up from its trip but was still in good enough shape for me to not send it back. After my long term boyfriend, Evan broke up with me after 6 years of dating. My friend decided I need to get out there.
The dating scene never worked for me, like ever. Online dating, blind dates, dating friends, one night stands, and especially letting the family set you up. Nothing ever got anywhere far. Although finally, my friends told me that maybe I should try a robot. It not like humans worked for me anyway.
So here I am with this dumb human-sized box in front of me.
"What the fuck is wrong with me." I sigh and run my hands through my hair.
Am I going to do this? Ah, fuck it.
Pulling the tape packaging off, I slide the brown top off the box to see an arm piece wrapped in plastic. What the hell, are you telling me I have to put him together like a table.
Staring at all the other parts I could already tell he was going to be worth the money. He has the body of a goddess. Nicely toned torso and the arms were beefy and buff. His legs were athletic but not too much. His face was the best part. I customized him, especially so I could have a bit of the terminator type of thing going.
One thing was for sure. He was a hottie in a package. After I finally decided that I had enough time gawking him and started to get to the building.
"Now where is that damn instruction manual."
—
Hours later I finish my dream man. He was hard to put together so he better have been worth the time. All I had to do now was put in the activation code on my phone and he should turn on.
Opening up my phone I debate if I want to do this. Hesitating I quickly think about everything that could go wrong. This could be my only way to find love, and if all fail I could just use him to get back at Evan. Smirking I type in the code with a pleasing thought.
"Okay, so it's 03231991, and done." Pressing okay I heard the sudden jerking of the body in front of me.
His head stared at me staring at me. I slowly watched his eyes widened in shock and he frantically glances around the room in a rush. He abruptly stood up and bent his knees making sure they work. The robot even stretched a bit before turning back to me.
Then he took off down the hallway.
What the hell.
I quickly stand up and take off the way he went screaming. Who does he think he is, you build the man up like gingerbread and he runs like he has seen the muffin man. This is ridiculous I never thought I would be running for my lover today.
"Get back here you brat!" I screamed panting a mess just like a dog.
He looks around in a hurry and turns and locks himself in my guest bedroom. Jogging up to the tall black door, I bang with all my strength leaving me fatigued. When I get my hands on this dude, I was going to choke him like Homer Simpson would do Bart.
"Open the door!" I said sternly.
"Go away you human!" The bot cried. I didn't remember picking an Irish accent for him. Then again I did pick randomly.
"Look I'm not going to hurt you. I'm tired and desperate, I have much better things to do than play this childish Cat n' Mouse game." Sighing I place my hand on the door and look down.
"You can call me names and run away all you want but I'm done chasing. I want a lover, not a toy, just please come out." Stepping back I walk away and hear the door creak behind me.
The man stood in his black t-shirt and dark blue jeans. He had a vacant look on his face as his fingers played with the palm of his hands. Everything about this was oddly silent.
"I'm sorry, but my last owner was not very nice to me. I think they forgot to wipe my memory."
"I thought they always wipe the memories," I questioned raising my brow.
He shrugged and kicked his foot. "Then how do I still remember?"
I couldn't even think straight, my head was going miles per hours trying to understand how he still remembered.
"Let's just go to the kitchen," I said softly grabbing my head.
The robot nodded and walked behind me.
—
We talked for hours, which surprisingly didn't feel like a lifetime. I wouldn't have thought that I would have this much of a good time with something that isn't my phone. Though here
we are.I ask him the basic questions like what he can do, what's his style, what he likes, and doesn't. It doesn't take long to see that I made the perfect guy for me. We had a lot in common that I didn't even program.
"So why did you want an IBot?" The brown-haired electronic ask.
Playing with my fingers I didn't want to scream, yeah I was desperate, I mean it was written all over my face. Couldn't he see it?
"Well um, my and my boyfriend- well ex-boyfriend now, we broke up and I've been very lonely so." Drawling out my last words I look down at the wooden floor.
"What do you plan on doing to me." I could hear a hint of fear coming out of his voice.
"Honestly, I just want a friend at this point."
A soft smile paints his face. Almost as if he could feel some sort of emotion. His eyes flash a bright blue and go back to normal.
"What was that?" I ask.
"What was what?" He questions tilting his head.
"That thing you just did, do it again."
He shrugs and around the room with a blush. "I can't do it again."
"And why is that?" I roll my eyes.
"Because I already set the command."
Huh?
I grab my cup and pull the steaming liquid up to my lips. "So if I give you command your eyes will do this thing again?"
He nods.
"Okay be my boyfriend."
"I can't Ms.Y/n you already have a command in the lock."
I groan and push him playfully. "You're a pain."
"What are friends for." He joked
