The weekend past and I spent nearly every waking moment texting Eli and being flirty. On Monday I caught the later bus because I woke up so late from my brother Billy waking me up at 3.00am after coming home from a party all drunk, I spent another hour helping him get to bed. On the bus I started reading an amazing book. This book was so like me and Eli and our ‘different’ love story.

I was reading the most romantic part when Elizabeth called out to me. Once I heard her devilish voice I knew she was trouble. A couple of stops before the school stop Elizabeth got up and sat next to me. I turned to her and said “Get away from me.”

Elizabeth giggled and replied “Is your imaginary friend coming to sit next to you?”

I shut my book in anger and said again “Get away from me.”

She took out her mascara and started to apply it as she did she said “Don’t get too excited we wouldn’t want you to get drunk afterwards, because you looked terribly drunk when we had our scuffle before.”

I got up to yell at her but a rush of stars filled my head. I sat back down and started to doze off. As it was the bus stop before all I saw were black images and then I shut out the last thing I heard was the annoying laugh of Elizabeth.

I woke up hours later (after lunch) by me resting in Eli’s arms. I sat up and brushed my hair back and questioned sounding really drunk “What happened?”

Eli squeezed my hand tighter and explained “You have your blackout on the bus, Elizabeth was about to hit you but I ran onto the bus as it was at school and I pushed her out of the way. I carried you to the principal’s office and talked briefly with him and so he allowed me to stay with you on school premises only until you awaken.”

“Wow, it sounds like a fairy-tale like sleeping beauty…” I replied.

He smiled to me and said “To get away from this I thought maybe we should take a break.”

“What kind?” I questioned.

“I got two tickets to a book reveal but it’s 12 hours away from here and I brought us a hotel to stay in.” Eli said.

I looked at him in shock and asked “did my mum have your approval?”

“Of course, she said yes…… it will be a good break from this and the troubles.” Eli said to me squeezing my hand even tighter.

I looked away and the bell went I answered his offer with “I’ll decide later….”

Eli smiled and stood up and said “Well now you’re awake but sorry time for class and I need to know by Wednesday…….. I love you.”

I hopped up and gave him a kiss and I watched him walk away.

The afternoon all I did was pick a daisy and repeat the words “Do I go?...... Or I don’t go.”

As I got to the last one I became too scared to pick it because I wold say that I wouldn’t go.

As sun rose I was dropped off at school by Billy’s crazy driving. I thought long and hard after the daisy picking and if I went it would be bad timing because Jacob and Elizabeth would think I’m chicken and flee. Eli came to my locker and was about to greet me with a kiss but I turned my cheek.

Eli asked “Why no romance my sweet Becky? Hahaha”

I replied with “there is no more fun and games Eli.”

He stood and stared at me. I then spoke to break our silence “I’m not going with you on the break and I think we need a break.”

“What a day?” Eli replied.

“No I mean it I’m not going on the break with you and I need space, my blackouts have caused enough trouble and I love you too much that I may hurt you.” And I quickly ran off down the hallway in sadness and left Eli speechless.

The whole of the day I avoided him and stuck around loved up Imogen and Emma. I got so many texts from Eli saying to talk and talk about what’s happened but all I need is space to think.

During the make out of Imogen and Emma I sat in silence and spaced out, thinking about nothing. When I was snapped out by Adam greeting me.

He instantly said “Eli is broken.”

I frowned and replied “I don’t know what to do.”

Adam answered “Having this break from school and problems will clear your head. I had a friend who has the same thing as you and he went away from school and when he came back he was better than ever.”

“B-B-B-but” I stuttered.

“But nothing…….. going with Eli I think will bring a stronger connection.” Adam said.

“But I just told him to practically go away. I’m such an idiot.” I said.

Adam put his hand on my shoulder and said “Just give him a surprise.”

When he said that a spark went through my head, and I knew I have Eli’s spare keys and Eli won’t know what kind of surprise I’m going to give to him on Wednesday.
