The next day of school I head to the auditorium and it’s full with students. I walk backstage and I see Felix. We approach each other and I say “I hope you have covered the school’s finance, extra curiculars, and fun days.”
Felix replies “Were going to talk about that.”
I smile and aswer “were going to talk about a lot of things.”
We walk on stage and I stand behind my microphone stand opposite Felix. We shake hands and the principle says “I want a fair debate.”
We both nod and get the debate starts.
The principle asks “What are you going to bring to this school if you become president?”
I say “You students are going to get someone who has dealt with pressure, and can organise events in a day or a week just like I did with the help of people for prom. I am someone experienced with student council, I know the school’s team and resources.”
I look at Felix and he says “I am someone who will bring change, not the same old, same old things that we get annually, I’m going to bring you new things and make new things.”
I but in and ask Felix “What if you propose a bad idea and the people don’t like it, but you have already organised it? You need to ask the people before creating things on your own.”
The students cheer for me and Felix starts to figit.
The principle asks another question “What are wanting this school to be like next year.”
Felix immeadiatley aswers “An awesome school!”
I reply “I want to make this school a place of strong, learning and a comfortable learning environment, I could get the garden a re-vamp, I want to know what the students want to make their school life easier and comfortable for when there are pressures of exams or anything.”
I look at the principle and he smiles to me. I look over to Felix and I see his palm cards are mixed up, it be a great time to attack.
The principle asks again “Are you going to support the school in everything they do.”
Felix and I reply at the same time “Yes.”
I look at Felix and ask “What if the drama people need the gym to rehearse for the next school play? What will you do?”
Felix replies “I’ll be first in line tobuy tickets.”
I continue “But the cheerleaders need to use the gym for practice for their championship on the same day. You need to be organised, and quick thinking if you want to be president, you can’t always please everyone.”
The crowd cheer and start to chant my name. I give Felix a smirk as I watch him sweat and shake with nerves.
After the debate Felix and I wait near the principle’s office to hear the votes of who won.
The principle come out and says “Becky I’m sorry……. But your going to be hearing a lot from me next year, your next year’s president!”
Ijump up and down and Give David a hug and Imogen and Emma and nearly everyone.
I walk up to David and say “you know I’m thinking you can be my vice-president if you want?”
David replies “Nope I don’t want to but I think felix wants the job.”
I approach Felix and he says “You’re a hard one to beat.”
I grab his arm before he walks off and I ask “Can you be my VP you know-“
He cuts in a says “Vice President of course!”
Felix picks me up and twirls me around. As he places me back down Eli walks up to me.
I suddenly went sour faced to him.
Eli says “Great job on getting president…… I have news….. I got into Film University.”
I give him a smile and a tear rolls down my cheek and I reply “Good for you,all your dreams came true, I guess your better off without me.”
Eli replies “Wait no I’m not I don’t want our story to end like this.”
I answer Eli “No stop were not a fairytale, have a good holiday, and I hope University is all you ever wanted.”
Eli looks away and walks off. I wipe away my tears and give Felix a high five.
