wrong send - hyunjin + seungmin

SEUNGMIN'S alarm clock rang, but his eyes were already open. he has been awake all night. he did everything to make himself fall asleep; drink milk, listen to asmr and lullabies and even singing himself to sleep. but none of those worked.

it was still four am, but he set the alarm on that time in purpose. today was his flight, flight to los angeles.

he and seunghee were going to continue studying in los angeles after what happened. mr. and mrs. kim knew that it would be a bad idea to make seungmin stay in seoul with hyunjin around.

seungmin sighed as he sat up and stared at his floor. he has never felt so down like this before. he closed his eyes and let a tear fall down.

all he wanted to do was let out all the pain inside. he wanted to scream the top of his lungs. he wanted to punch the wall until his fists bleed. he wanted to cry until he runs out of tears.

but then suddenly, his phone rang. he opened his eyes and glanced at his phone. it was minho calling. he picked it up and placed the phone on his ear.

"seungmin? i'm sorry if i called you at this time in the morning."

"no, it's okay. i've been up all night."

"what? why? you have a flight today. you should've sleep."

"i couldn't. i tried everything, but none worked."

"i'm sorry."

"no, don't be, minho. i just-- thank you so much for being an amazing friend to me. you're always there when i need you."

"it's nothing, seungmin. i'm always here when you need me, okay?"

"i know, thank you."

"you're always welcome. have a safe flight."

seungmin smiled before ending the call. he stood up, slipped his feet into his pair of slippers then walked downstairs.

"seungmin sweetie, good morning. eat your breakfast first. our flight is in two hours so we have a lot of time to prepare." mrs. kim said when she saw seungmin enter the kitchen.

"okay, mom." seungmin said, he sounded cold.

mrs. kim watched as seungmin sat down on the table and ate his breakfast in a weak mood. she wasn't used to see seungmin like this.

seungmin is usually smiley and soft. he'd wake up the earliest to make breakfast for everyone and during table talks, he'd always bring up the happiest moments and topics.

seeing seungmin frown and eat with no appetite was painful for mrs. kim, and he blamed hyunjin for all of this. she didn't care if she and mrs. hwang were close friends, she still hated her son.

"sweetie, are you okay?"

seungmin hummed as he looked up at his mom. he closed his eyes as he nodded then smiled at her.

"i know how it feels like when someone you loved dearly leaves you when you wanted them to stay. but seungmin, things happen for a reason."

"what do you mean, mom?"

"maybe he wasn't meant to be with you."

seungmin stayed silent for a few seconds, then sighed. "maybe you're right, you're all right. maybe i was just carried away with his looks. maybe he never loved me."

mrs. kim moved closer to seungmin and hugged him. "you'll find the right one soon, sweetie. just wait for the right time, just wait." she whispered.

after a few hours, the kim family was at the airport already. seungmin looked around the airport one more time. he knew he'd miss seoul.

as he walked behind his parents, his head was down. he stared at the floor as he walked, thinking what if hyunjin was here.

but he immediately shook his head off his thoughts. he was still mad at hyunjin for breaking his heart.

going back to los angeles would totally take seungmin's mind off all the problems he currently has, even though he'd miss korea. he doesn't know how long he'd stay in los angeles anyway.
