The light snap of the laptop shutting signaled the end of a long and draining afternoon, one that consumed almost your entire day.
After hours of sitting hunched in front of your laptop typing away, you had finally finished your paper. Leaning back in the chair, you extended your arms, reaching up into the air to relive the tension in your forearms before stretching out your stiff back. Despite sitting in an amazingly comfy desk chair, the comfort wore off quite some time ago and your back was aching.
Just as you pushed yourself away from the desk you spent so many hours parked in front of, the sound of the front door closing reached your ears, the noise lifting your mood immediately.

Yoongi was home.

His leisurely footsteps got closer until he emerged from around the corner and into the bedroom. As soon as his eyes landed on you, that heart-melting, gummy smile of his made an appearance, his tiny teeth on full display as he approached you.
"Hi baby."
"Hello, my lovely."
"What have you been up to?" He asked, planting a single kiss on your forehead while his hands squeezed your shoulders gently.
His pleasant ministrations postponed your response for a few moments as your eyelids slid shut and you relished in the brief massage.
"Finishing up my essay." You murmured.
He hummed in response. "You've been working hard, I'm sure."
"I have." You sighed out, standing up out of the chair you'd been seated in for so long only to stumble when you did so.
"Woah." Yoongi was quick to grab you before you could fall. "Careful."
"Ah, sorry." You huffed. "I guess my leg fell asleep while I was sitting."
"Are you okay?" He asked you, concern lacing his voice.
"My back and neck are a little sore and I have a bit of a headache from staring at the computer screen for so long. I'll be alright though."
"Have you eaten anything?"
There was a pause as you replayed events from the day, not recalling a time where you stopped to eat. "Now that you mention it, I don't think I have."
Finishing that essay was your top priority and apparently your only priority since you forgot to eat. Yoongi would often chastise you for not eating properly, so you fully expected an earful after you confessed your folly.
"No wonder you have a headache. You've been staring at a computer screen for who knows how many hours and you haven't had a single bite to eat." He was visibly disappointed and mildly concerned, but he didn't lay into you, so that was a relief.
"Tell you what—you go get freshened up, I'm taking you out."
"To where?"
"Any restaurant you'd like. Whatever you're in the mood to eat, it's your choice."
Yoongi's heart leapt at the way your entire face lit up at his offer, an endearing glimmer in your eyes at the mention of food.
"What are you waiting for?" He chuckled. "Go get ready."
At his words, you went to the closet and sifted through the garments hanging inside.
You chose your favorite pair of jeans as well as Yoongi's white FG shirt and went to the bathroom to change into them, ditching your oversized hoodie and (very comfortable) sweats in favor for the more presentable outfit.
