Chapter 17

Devin stood to his feet looking as if he seen a ghost. JJ grinned maliciously advancing him. "What are you doing man?" Devin asked. JJ laughed. "I'm just finishing what you started boss." He said firing his gun. Devin quickly grabbed his gun firing back and an all shoot out war began. Ashley screamed as an arm came around "It's ok. It's just me." Jayden said. She breathe a sigh of relief. "Come on, let's go." He said and Ashley nodded. Together, they made their way through the intense battlefield ducking and weaving. Someone groan and fell to the ground as smoke filled the air. Ashley saw Devin firing his gun at one of JJ's henchmen only to be shot in the shoulder by JJ himself. She bit back a cry as Devin went down in pain. Anger surged through Jayden and he quickly brought Ashley to higher ground. "Stay here," He said. "Don't leave me Jayden!" Ashley said pleading. "I'll be back. I promise." Jayden said lightly brushing his lips against hers stopping her thoughts. He ended the kiss with a quick smile before stepping into the cross fire with an Uzi in tow. He fired several rounds from it filling the air with even more smoke and gunfire. Suddenly, he groan in pain as a bullet pierced his back. Jayden turned painfully to see who had shot him and he gasped in complete shock. Ashley's eyes widen. "What are you doing Brianna?" "As if you don't already know," Brianna said smirking. "What the fuck are you talking about?" Brianna scoffed. "Get real Ash, I wasn't never your friend. I was just using you to get closer to your billionaire assets." Ashley felt as if a piece of her soul was ripped from her body. "How could you do this to me?" Ashley said tears welling in her eyes. "Oh please, save your tears for someone who gives a damn. I don't really care." "But I do," Brianna turned. "Stay out of this Adrienne. This doesn't concern you." Adrienne's eyes turned completely black and she gritted her teeth. "It does now when my brother is lying at your feet in a pool of  his own blood you psychotic bitch!" She said raising her pistol before pulling the trigger. BANG! A single deafening shot echoed through the air, but Brianna dodged it firing back. POP! POP! BANG! BANG! The two ladies went back and forth like cowboys and Indians. But Adrienne delivered the final blow. Brianna missed her shot and Adrienne fired. The bullet piercing her heart. She staggered gasping for air. "BRIANNA!" JJ said screaming her name as he desperately tried to reach her, but Devin somehow managed to trip him. He shouted as loud as he could to Cory and Jasmine. "CALL... THE.... POLICE!" He said wheezing. "SHUT UP YOU SON OF A BITCH!" JJ said kicking Devin in the head as he started to his feet. JJ slowly walked over to Brianna wincing in pain. He aimed his gun at Adrienne firing. BOOM! The shot roared through the air and a single bullet hurled Adrienne's way, but she dodged it sliding her gun to Ashley. "SHOOT HIM ASHLEY!" Adrienne screamed. Hands shaking, Ashley grabbed the 9mm pistol handle pulling the trigger. BANG! A single shot ran through the air. JJ tried to fire back, but he was a bit too slow and the bullet pierced his heart. He gasped mumbling a curse as he collapsed to the ground in a single motion.
