Morning

Christina's POV

I am woken up by the bedroom door and some quiet sniffling. I sit up in the bed and see Lauren looking at me with tears falling down her face. I open my arms invitingly and usher her to come. She quickly climbs the bed and collapses into my arms. I wrap my arms around her and rock her back and forth until she falls asleep. I set Lauren down next to me and she cuddles up to Kath as I get out of the bed. I check the time on my phone.  6:02. I go to the bathroom and start getting ready.

When I finish getting ready I walk downstairs and begin making a breakfast of strawberry waffles, eggs, and bacon.

When I finish it is 7:44 and Amy asked to go outside. I walk up the stairs to wake up everyone. I walk into the master bedroom and see Kath laying there peacefully with Lauren cuddled up to my pillow. I then decide to let Kath sleep longer and pick up Lauren.

I quietly walk out of the master bedroom with Lauren in my arms. I rub small circles gently on her back as I walk down to Dani's room. I open the door softly and see Dani sprawled out on her bed with her arms dangling off the bed. I set Lauren down on the hanging chair as she wakes up and I walk over to Dani. I kneel down and slowly trace my finger over her cuts, and rub circles on her stomach. She groans and begins shifting. When she opens her eyes I smile gently at her and she returns the favor.

"I-I'll get dressed now."

I nod, it hurts me that I can't tell her how much I love her. It hurts me that she doesn't think that I love her, but I love her so much. I give her a tight hug and trace my fingers over her cuts again.

"2 weeks clean, 2 weeks."

She mumbles and I smile proudly.

Good Job. I love you so much

I sign to her but knowing she only understood a select few words I give her a gentle kiss on the forehead. I point downstairs and pretend to eat. I would have signed it but, she hasn't learned much sign language yet.

I pick up Lauren again and she cuddles into me. I walk down to Lisa's room and walk in.

Lisa is lying in her bed still. I set Lauren down and she sits on the floor. I walk over to Lisa and see her staring at the ceiling, in her own world. I tacitly shake her and she snaps out of her daze. I point to the door and sign

Breakfast is ready

She nods and gets out of her bed. I leave and pick Lauren up again. I bring her downstairs and set her down at the table, and serve her some food. I see Amy looking energetic and excited, jumping around the backyard. I step outside and attempt to signal to Amy to come eat. When she finally notices me she runs into the house and starts grabbing food.

I walk upstairs and find Kath sleeping so blissfully, unlike her normally tense and alert self. I sigh and get in bed next to Kath and rub her back gently. She groans and turns over to face me. I begin kissing her from her forehead down to her hands and arms. When I finish Katherine is looking at me and smiling widely.

I made breakfast. Downstairs. Enjoy

"I will. I will enjoy it. I will enjoy it very much."

I smile and leave again to monitor the kids downstairs.

I don't know why I started this book... but I had this idea during church... I don't know why. I like the idea though, we will see how it goes.
