Silent I stared out the window. The black and grey shades danced past the corner of my eyes. Always changing, never taking form. The night was that dark. While I stared out the window, I felt the soft bumping from the bus getting rougher. My heavy eyes opened wide again. I looked forward. Towards the driver. He had taken off his leather coat, and he had switched to the rock radio channel. The volume was so low it didn't help my eyes stay open any bit.

The radio channel had a short news break. Some Thomas Hendler introduced himself, and talked about a court case from yesterday, about politics and a witness of the recent collapse of an orphanage on the outskirts of town. The bus driver turned up the volume slightly.
-What the... the building was old!.. no no no..., he replied to the radio as if debating.

In about five minutes, the bus stopped suddenly. My body was launched back and fourth in my seat, and the seatbelt dug its way into my chest. I unlocked it and took a deep breath. And I grabbed my bag.
-Oh, did I startle you, boy? I didnt know about this fallen tree. I have to tell them the road is blocked.

-Yeah, Yeah, I mumbled and took out my bank card. I walked forward to the front. The bus driver prepared his display and receipt printer. I stood there patiently, watching him. He typed in the sum. He stroked his beard for a moment. Then he checked out a receipt. He threw it in the trash. He swiftly put the right sum into the display, and turned it towards me. I entered the code on my card, and put it back in my wallet.
-There we go..., the bus driver said.
-Thanks for the ride., I nodded smiling. He smiled subtly back.
-Be careful, they say a witch lives in this forest., before shutting the door. Then I watched him turn the bus, and leave the forest.

Honestly, I was a little worried. Not scared, not at all, but I had this feeling. Not about the witch. I didn't know where to go. I had asked a few local independent doctors and healers, as I couldn't afford a hospital fee. They had directed me to go to "The cabin in the woods" and talk to Julie. They told me to get myself cured. One of the doctors called me a monster after a healer session.
They take distance from me on the street. They never meet my eyes. I don't have anyone to talk out to.

I was hoping I wouldn't need to camp out. The forest was cold and wet, it had been raining. The black skies hung over me like a roof. The deep forest surrounded me. I couldn't see further than a 9 meters maximum. This fog had come from nowhere, and it oozed towards me from the direction of the road. Like it was trapping me. I followed the direction of the wind so I could see in front of me, and entered the woods, leaving the road.

There were no sound. Apart from me stepping on sticks and branches of course. I wasn't scared, but my heart was beating quicker. I ended up on a hill, and looked out over the landscape. I could see the forest coming to an end a few kilometers away. The trees were close to each other, and they all looked exactly the same. I kept in mind that I had to be careful to not get lost, as I was about to leave the hill. But then I saw a weak trail of smoke, between the trees.
-That has to be the cabin!, I thought and ran off towards the smoke. I was so full of hope, because this so- called witch might be the only one left who could save me.

-Hey, you!, a voice shouted from behind. I quickly turned, tried to see who was there, but tripped and fell forwards.
-Who is there!?, I shouted back and tried to find my flashlight in my bag. My hand didnt swim long through my clothes and belongings before finding it, and in a quick manner I pointed it towards the voice.

-Dont worry about it...,the deep voice said. And before I got to flick the button for the flashlight, a harsh blue orb of light was shining against my eyes. I took my arm in front of me, and looked past. The man wore some black, big robes and a fur jacket with silver buttons, his grey hair was long, and set up in a horse tail. The light came from the hovering ball in his hand, which was rotating and shining brightly. He came up to me, and studied me closer. His face looked old, maybe he was in his 50s. His green eyes went up and down, and finally settled looking into mine, like two knives.
