The two boys entered Target, it didn't seem too packed which was a good thing. Matt would finally get to clear his mind, shopping at Target should be enjoyable; not a pain in the ass. But the thing is, Matt couldn't clear his mind. He was spending his day off with Ryan, his best friend and secret crush.
"Hey, Ryan? Is it okay if I head to the bathroom?" Matt asked, showing an uncomfortable facial expression.
"Yeah, gotta take a massive shit or something?"
"R-Ryan!" Matt shook his head.
"I'm joking, I'll wait for you out here." Matt walked over to the men's restroom and Ryan leaned on the wall.
Once Matt entered he rushed into a stall and locked the door, sitting on the toilet and whipping out his phone.
Matt: tucker I need to get something off my chest
Tucker: finally ready to tell me?
Matt: yes, god yes I just wanna feel like I'm not going insane because of it
Tucker: alright man, tell me
Matt: okay so,,, I'm bi, but even worse I have a crush on Ryan and I don't know what to do
Tucker: holy shit
Matt: what???
[ message read ]
Matt panicked, why wasn't Tucker replying to the text?
Tucker: okay so obviously this is huge
Matt let himself breathe, he shouldn't get so worked up about such a small thing.
Matt: yeah...do you hate me now?
Tucker: dude, why would I hate you? You're so brave for coming out
Matt: thank you...hey I'm at Target with Ryan right now, can I text you later?
Tucker: of course, have fun!
Matt got off the toilet and unlocked the stall, walking out of the restroom, getting a weird look from an old guy because he didn't wash his hands.
Ryan was on his phone once Matt got back, looking at his screen in a confused way.
"Hey, Ry. Are you ready to look around?" Matt asked.
"Yeah, real quick though." He held his phone up to Matt's face. "What's this?" The phone showed a tweet by Tucker reading, "Matt is gay, Matt is gay, Matt is gay, Matt is gay for Ryan" and the picture that was attached was Matt's text to Tucker.
Matt couldn't believe his eyes, how could his friend do this to him? He didn't even come out to anyone else and Tucker ruined his chance.
"Ry..Ryan.." Matt shook a little "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry oh my go- I can't believe this."
"Matt just tell me what's going on-"
People were watching them now and all Matt could do was run. He ran out of Target and back to the car, tears running down his face. He probably made the situation worse, just leaving Ryan in there. Matt didn't have the keys to the car so he just leaned on it and cried. He didn't care if anyone was watching at this point. He just had to let it all out. Even if it didn't help.
