Until His Last Breath

James came back into the wood after picking up the weapons inside the car. He left Karin in the car alone. He's not worried anymore because he already conveyed his heart about how he feel about her.

James's footsteps stopped when he saw a shadow from behind a tree.

David reveals himself to a brighter place. He smiled. "You're brave." James raised his gun.

"I want to get everything done here."

"Fine by me."

David shot at James. he immediately dodged and attacked back. They shoot at each other. David was so focused on James, who kept shooting at him.

He counted five, six, seven. James shot stopped. David smirked. He will not waste this opportunity. David sneaked behind the bush. He saw something behind the tree. He's sure it's James.

David gave a surprise by appearing suddenly from behind. Unfortunately, he only saw a squirrel.

James stepped forward and hit right in David's face, striking him back and smashing him to the ground. Not mindful, David pushed James's body. He rose again. James dodged and hid in the dark.

David tasted something salty in his mouth. He rubbed his corner of his mouth with the tip of his shirt. Red color is visible. His gun already gone from his grip.

"Come on! You can do better than this." He shouting. James's eyes looked through the tree. Face stiff. Like a wolf, he settles between the trees. His footsteps not heard. So softly blend with the sound of nature.

James's eyes were so frightening. He emerges from behind a tree and attacks David. David dodged. he grabbed James's hand, twisting it back. James doesn't stay silent. He nudged David's belly with his left hand.

David let go of his hand. Walking backward, then go back. His fist trying to hit his face. James is at a high concentration. He avoided David's blow. Feeling annoyed for failing to hit him, David takes something from his jacket. A kitchen knife.

David took a step forward and drew his knife into his face. When James was a little off guard. The cut landed on the detective's left cheek. James holds his cheek with his thumb. Removing his blood trail.

"It's not wrong for them to give you a title of experts martial. You have all the criteria." David took a deep breath he was almost out of breath. Different from James. he was still breathing regularly. Don't look tired.

"No need for small talk, David." said James, stretching out his hand. challenged David. David felt challenged. He started attacking again.

Karin waited in the car uneasily. They have messed her mind up all along. More precisely since James gave her a kiss, in her forehead. Karin blushed to remember the incident. She never felt this way before. Seeing his face and hearing James's voice had made her go crazy.

She ran out of patience. Karin got out of the car. Though with her wounded legs, she ventured to dredge James alone. She doesn't want her friend to die just like that. Karin dawdled while hobbling into the wood.

James's breath thinned. his strength was running out because David had balanced himself in the fight. For people who are not the type of fighter, he cannot underestimate David. James sighed and stood up straight again. Looked at David.

"Looks like you're tired." James wipes his sweat with his hands. Then he looked at David. "Don't underestimate me."

"OK."

David ran toward James, trying to hit him this time. James started moving more slowly than before. His stamina is running out. When the dizziness started approaching, David's knife hit James's upper arm. He failed to avoid it and falling to the ground.

Saw the opportunity, David chased and kicked him in the abdomen strongly. a loud moan out of James' mouth.

James was out of breath. He immediately took his supine position on the ground.

David stamped on his chest. Not letting him stand up again. David stuck his knife in James's right hand. And immediately made the man scream.

David's right hand held James's left hand. He completely caged under the weight of David's body. David twisted his knife to make James even more painful.

"How does it feel, James, fun?"

James gritted his teeth. "Fuck you!"

"Good."

like a trance, David increasingly violent to play the knife that still stuck in James's shoulders.

James's eyes glanced. the pain makes him exhausted. His body slackened. James didn't fight anymore. He just closed his eyes.

Not wanting to waste time, David pulled out the knife. He looked down, staring at the helpless man beneath him. David stroked his cheek slowly. "You look like Julia, thank you."

When the tip of the knife was less than an inch from James's chest, the movement stopped. James opens his eyes and sees David holding his shoulder. The knife had fallen to its side.

"You're under arrest, David!" shouted someone who was none other than Karin.

It shocked James. whether this woman is brave or crazy. He ordered Karin to wait, not to catch up with him. "Didn't I tell you to wait in the car!" Karin ignored him and moving albeit slowly.

Karin pulled David's collar and punched him right in the chin. Very hard, sounds bone broken from his jaw. David huddled slightly in pain. At least shot in his shoulder can slow him down.

Karin picked up the knife beside James. staring at it then throwing it to a distant place.

"Save your thanks later." Karin lifted James's body. From a distance came the sound of footsteps approaching. Philip emerged from behind the tree. His face looked surprised.

He saw someone huddled on the ground. "Is that?" Karin nodded. Philip walked over. He grabs his cuffs from his pockets. When he turned around, Philip put deadpan face. "You shot him? Really?"

"Better that way."

Karin turned around, turned her back on Philip and started walking with James. "You owe me." said Karin smiling pleased. "Yes, yes, I owe you." James answer while rolling his eyes. Feel annoyed and relieve at the same time.

Philip was busy handcuffing when David suddenly grabbed his wrist. Philip tried to struggle, but David actually pried him to the ground. He saw Philip's gun and took it. He pointing that gun at them.

"Bye-bye, Detective."

David fired bullets the right to the direction of the two of them, rather one of them. "No!" shouted Philip caught the two people's attention. James moving spontaneously, reverse his body and blocking Karin.

James glaring down. Blood flow quickly from his abdomen.
