"Welcome to Chicago."
James raised his eyebrow next to Michael, who already standing before him. Strangely, the man he calls Knight had a platonic face inversely proportional to his words just now. How weird, he thought.
"I hate seeing your poker face." James said, strolled away, bring the suitcase. Michael followed his boss from behind like a dog. Some people who passed by could only see in surprise because the big man continued to follow James. In front, James, he could only resist embarrassment, putting on a pretended face and keep calm. In his heart, he grumbled.
James took the bus to his new apartment. He went down, so did Michael. Stepping forward one time, he aligned himself with James. "How long do you want to follow me? People thought we are a couple who are fighting.
Michael looked at James. "I have something to talk."
James turned. "About what?"
Michael looked back at his boss closely. He looks exhausted. There were black eyes and a pale face. Her hair is a bit messy. Michael couldn't bear to see it.
"It's okay. You better take a break. We can talk about this tomorrow."
"All right, we'll talk tomorrow. Just call me." James frowned.
James waved. He entered a large building with towering heights. Michael waited patiently until finally his boss actually entered the building safely.
The next morning James gets a quick message from Michael along with the address he wants to go. Today the weather was quite bright, so James only wore a white shirt with a jacket and dark blue jeans. After wearing sneakers, he locked the door of his apartment.
The trip wasn't long because he had memorized Chicago. He has lived here for a couple year on important business. So he doesn't need to worry because he's strayed. As soon as he saw the place, he wanted to visit James's eyebrows bent violently. In front of his eyes, he saw a fancy restaurant with a classic style.
"It seems like I'm getting a wrong costume." His hands patted the forehead. But it can't be helped. He entered the restaurant. He was greeted by a neatly dressed waiter. The man bent, then raised his head. "Have you made a reservation?"
"I want to meet Michael, Knight."
The waiter looked at the guest book. He smiled. "This way, sir."
The man shows the way. From a distance, James could see Michael sitting in a chair at the end of the room. The light penetrated his face because the large window was close to him. He waited patiently. The two men approached the table.
"Sorry make you wait." James said. Michael looked. "Not really. Please sit down."
Waiter resigns. James looked at Michael after seeing the waiter leave. Just to make sure. "What do you want to talk about?"
"About your sister's relationship with David."
"Are you curious?" James asked. Michael nodded.
"To be honest, I'm still confused about their relationship, or maybe it's just a lie."
Michael did not comment. Because the waiter came and poured wine on them. The two looked back as the waiter left. "It's all on David, right?"
"I don't know. Maybe this is also my sister's doing."
Michael's eyebrows bent. "I don't understand."
James drank a sip of wine, played with the glass. "Before my sister went to LA, I had time to hack her cellphone." James frowned slightly. "Julia, she has been communicating with my someone several times. And I found something suspicious." James put his glass on the table.
"She said several times the word flower seemed to point to something. I don't know for sure what it was, but what was clear that she was pointing at someone."
"You're like believing that someone and your sister are planning something."
"Fifty fifty." He said. But it paused when the waiter returned. This time the waiter brought the ordered food. James and Michael stop talking to eat. They enjoy their time. Within half an hour, both are finishing lunch and left.
James walked with Michael beside him. "Are you sure about your suspicion?"
"Maybe."
James paused for a while when he looked at the coffee seller. He ordered two copies as a treat for Michael. They continued walking again.
"I still don't understand." Michael said, looking forward. "Why do you sound blaming your sister?"
"David is smart. I admit it. He may have followed her feet from the first time and pretend to date her. He must have eavesdropped on Julia. I'm sure. That's why he waited for the right time. He killed my sister, maybe because of the secret." He said sluggishly. Michael glanced at James, who was suddenly not excited.
"Then you want to take revenge for your sister, is that so?"
James did not answer quickly. He was quiet. His body rests on a bridge guardrail. He drank coffee and looked down at the river below. Michael did the same.
"I bet with David." He answered calmly. Michael almost spit out his coffee. Then glared. "Since when?"
"I've met him a couple times. We bet what secrets my sister has hidden. At first I refused. Then he kidnapped Julia first. We both very curious."
"You are crazy."
James chuckled. "Everything was just a game. Both me and David. We are just little kids fighting over toys." He said, then a sly smile appeared on his face. He drank back his coffee. Michael who was standing right beside him could only frown.
In his mind, James, he was unforgivable. He is very similar to Gilbert. They're a cold-hearted bastard.
