Burt had lived on the fence side for a few days now, it was indeed only a few days but for a small ex-snail like Burt it felt like seven and a half years.  Time for slugs and snails moves even slower than actual slugs and snails on the move.
Regardless, Burt had met his demons head on, threw aside the pizza delivery leaflets and flung himself at the world. Not that world really asked for it, but he did so all the same.
But really, Burt thought, what else is there?
From his little home upon the fence he saw all of the garden, from the old crockery he once lived, to the small water feature in the other corner where boatmen met for casual chit chat, port and cigars.
But! Burt thought... what if I were to turn ever so slightly, and look the other way? Now there was a truly dizzying thought. No matter who would tell him he was crazy, who might say that he was mad, Burt turned anyway, and gazed upon the beyond. A tear rested at the corner of his eye....
"Beautiful..."
