Athena sits on her front porch, sipping her lemonade. "And that,ladies, is how Romeo and Juliet became a story told in thousands of different variations, in every part of the world."
Athena's 13-year-old daughter, Tori, wants to hear about anything BUT Romeo and Juliet, since her mother has been adapting the play into yet another novel version. "Mom. Please. Tell me ONE love story that isn't Romeo and Juliet. A REAL love story. And it better not kill off all the important people before the good stuff actually happens." Athena stared at the trees. She knew a good love story.
She was the star. She had lived it all before.
